best slr camera for video recording image

I have seen that it is becoming used for independent films and I want to look for one that would be good for video. I have heard that avchd format of compression is better than the jpg that most dslr used that have video recording. Also is there one that record in HD 1080/60i ?

How to know when youre in focus when taking recording yourself?

I had a Digital SLR camera for christmas, and it is a manual lens, so when im recording videos of myself for my vlogs, how do i know when im in focus? like without looking in the live view ??? just but looking at the lens

Put the camera in manual focus. Tape a string to the camera, underneath is a good spot. Place a piece of paper where your face will be in the viewfinder and focus on that piece of paper. Stretch the string to the paper and mark it. Now sit in and put the string to your eye. You are now in focus. Drop the string and shoot away.
