Alex Petie

I record some videos for youtube like Monster Hunter Tri hunts and my camera doesnt have great video or sound quality. So I am just seeing if there is a better camera for me to use if anyone knows of one.
My current camera is a HD SONY Bloggie, and the HD barley works....

Answer
there really isn't a good video camera to record video games. the best thing to do is use a capture card. there is a dazzle dvd recorder that costs like fifty dollars. if you have a HDTV and play on it, you gott a get hd pvr, the best capture card but costs 200 dollars.

Whats the best video camera, for under $500, that i can record good live music and have a pretty good image quality?

Answer
Get a camera with a microphone input. Then go get one of these http://www.asimplelife.ca/mixer.html and hook it to the mic input on your camera, that way you have control of the volumes of 4 microphones. If you cannot use mics(going to a concert) you are out of luck, any video shot at a concert, unless the crowd is deathly still, never works, audio is unusable

what is a high quality camera for recording music?

what is a high quality camera for recording music (singing, piano, electric guitar, drums)?
how can you make music videos smooth and professional sounding? i don't have a studio either.

Answer
Well, you don't say what kind of budget your have but, you want high quality so, start with this article - http://www.videomaker.com/article/8243/ - Now, that you understand a little about what's involved, here is one of the least expensive high quality cameras. The average price if a high qualtiy camera is around $10,000.

However, for recording live sound, if you want the highest quality, you need to record it with Pro Tools recording software directly off the mixer that the band plays through and you then need to sync your video with the Pro Tools audio using Pro Tools.

What kind of digital camera should I get?

best bridge camera for video recording
on Why buy a Bridge Camera? What is it?
best bridge camera for video recording image

Anonymous.

I have a 2009 panosonic lumix (digital not HD - forget type though), but it's kind of broken because the lens won't open fully. I think it's time to get a new camera since I haven't gotten one since early 2010. I plan to be a photographer in the future (as a side job). I am also going to work at a camp and plan to take pictures there. I don't feel like bringing my big EOS digital 2008 cannon. Here's what I'm looking for:

1. Price range no more than $250. I would prefer less than $200, but if it would really suite me, then I'd go for it.
2. I'm not quite sure what I like. I know there's no such thing as a total all around digital point and shoot because I've been doing some research. I'd probably be doing photo shoots, but I also want one that would take like pictures of people doing sports since I'm in the horse world and like to take pictures of people horse riding and stuff. I guess I'd mainly focus on pets and kids and stuff.
3. I know optical zoom. I have photoshop CS5, so I don't need the pixels taken up like that.
4. I don't need a video recording. Would be nice, but eh I'd rather save my money and just use my phone or something.
5. I have a 2010 mac book pro laptop, so I'd like the card to be able to read/format on that.
6. If I print out images, it doesn't need to be more than 8X10 photo paper printed pictures. I mean I'd use my bigger camera for larger photos, so yeah. I'll probably just post the pictures online/email them if anything so won't need them really printed big.
7. I'd like to have a camera that has a decent battery life. At camp, the power went out for 8 days last year. I was able to take pictures the whole time and took over 300 pictures and still had battery life. I wouldn't mind having a long battery life like that camera.
8. My hand does shake a tad sometimes, so I'd prefer a not SOOO sensitive camera.
9. I'd like a camera that has the ability for manual settings and as well as auto or/and preset settings.
10. I'd prefer like Cannon, Nikon, Panasonic (nicer brands rather than the not so trustworthy brands because I know how to use those types of cameras).

Which camera(s) do you think would best suite me?

Answer
http://keerok-photography.blogspot.com/2012/09/cannon-is-weapon.html

1. Price is right smack in your budget.
2. Zoom is enough on this camera for taking horses and their riders. This is also good for shots of pets, kids and stuff which are near you or relatively out of reach. Just remember to shoot under lots of light. Indoors, use flash.
3. Optical zoom is not extravagant but not wanting either. Don't worry. What it lacks in zoom, it makes up with optical quality.
4. This has HD video which you can completely ignore until you find a lustful desire for it later.
5. As a standard feature, all cameras follow the FAT filesystem. With memory cards 4GB and larger, FAT32 is imposed. Mac computers can recognize FAT/FAT32 without problems. You can even format the memory card to FAT/FAT32 using your Mac (no matter how many pro photographers advice you not to). It will work.
6. This is a 16MP camera. You can print to 11x16" as long as exposure quality is gloriously good enough.
7. Four AA batteries. The best would be Energizer Lithium but you can also get rechargeable Ni-MH. Just make sure they're at least 2100 mAh for very long lasting shooting. In the event you run out, just slide over to the nearest store for some Alkaline AA's. That's the beauty of it.
8. Oh, this camera's sensitive. Apart from excellent optical glass quality, it has a triple-shake-reduction technology so don't worry about shaky hands. You're covered on that one.
9. Manual exposure? Manual focus? No problem. It's not as intuitive as a dSLR. This is after all just a bridge but, if you want manual, this has manual.
10. Since you can't spell Canon correctly, I'll take it you don't know that this brand is older than them and just a tad younger than Nikon. There was a time in fact when all cameras sold by all other brands (nice and not so trustworthy) were lesser than that sold by this brand alone. So there.

What cameras are good for recording youtube cover videos?

Chinieberr

I'm a singer and I'll be posting some acoustic and instrumental videos of my singing on youtube. I just really need a good camera. I was thinking about a Cannon but I don't know which one would be best for recording vocals. I have a budget of about $150. Please help, I'm looking for a decently priced camera with a good microphone on the video camera. Thanks.

Answer
Hmmm.. You might not get much with $150. I thought so, until I started looking more into good cameras. I went from looking at a $150 camera, to a $400 camera, and now I'm saving up for a $800 DSLR that has FANTASTIC quality and you are able to attach the good quality microphones you need to get great sound. Just in case you're curious, I'll show you which cameras I was looking at, all of which are great cameras!

1.) Canon PowerShot SX130 IS - $150. This is a GREAT camera for the price. I believe if you are really on a budget and don't feel like saving up, then you should definitely get THIS camera! No other! This camera. It has great picture quality and HD video. The microphone is pretty good too. So this would be the camera if you are on this budget.

2.) Canon PowerShot SX40 HS - $400. This camera is called a bridge camera (better than a Point-And-Shoot, but not the level of a DSLR). It can take great pictures similar to a DSLR (which is the cameras professionals use). The video is HD and GREAT, and better than the Canon PowerShot SX130 IS that I listed above. It is also a superzoom camera. It has the look of a DSLR also. It's a great camera!

3.) Canon EOS Rebel T3i - $800. This is the camera I'm now saving up for. It's a DSLR. It's just amazing. It shoots spectacular video. Of course it can take great pictures because it's a DSLR. Lol. But, this camera his this just perfect. Lol, for me it is anyways. But again, I'm quite serious about it, so I mean yeah.

You can check out the Canon Vixia camcorders if you just want a camera for shooting video. I don't know how much they run but probably not too much. Probably a little over your budget. But if you want a simple all around camera for pictures and video, and you are on this strict budget of $150, I strongly recommend the Canon PowerShot SX130 Is. The upgrade version is Canon PowerShot Sx150 IS, but it's probably $20 more.

Good luck! I hope you find what you want! :)

I need a good camera for recording myself playing drums, but that has good sound quality. I've tried a few cameras, and if there's any other drummers out there, you'll know what I mean by getting a fuzzy sound every time I hit my crash and bass. Anyone know any good cameras for recording drum tracks?

Answer
Without a doubt the answer is the Zoom Q3 Handy Video Recorder. Their motto is "Audio Makes the Video." All the emphasis is on audio quality, not video quality. While the video is still good, the audio is awesome, recording stereo sound (great for drums) at 44.1Khz or 48KHz. According to their site: "Audio formats with video include 44.1/48kHz 16/24-bit Linear PCM WAV or MP3 up to 320kbps"

It's what this camera was made for. Check it out here: http://www.homebrewaudio.com/zoom-q3

What would be the best HD video camera for filming action?

Talon

I need to film myself playing drums. Ideally the camera doesn't have to have any features, like zoom or any editing stuff, except recording because I'm just going to set it up on a tripod in a fixed spot. I just need a video camera that can record fast action well and has a sharp picture.

Answer
Consumer level HD camcorders have 3 problems. 1) Blurry, fuzzy, out of focus areas closely around people in videos taken by consumer level HD camcorders. 2) Any movement, even a wave or lifting an arm, while in front of a recording consumer level HD camcorder, results in screen ghosts and artifacts being left on the video track, following the movement. Makes for bad video, sports videos are unwatchable. 3) Mandatory maximum record times - 1 hour, 30 minutes, 8 minutes, 3 minutes - all times advertised as maximum record time for some consumer level HD camcorders. No event i have aver been to is that short. Either take multiple camcorders or pack up with out getting the end of the event on video.

With a MiniDV tape camcorder, record 60 or 90 minutes ( camcorder settings), 90 second or less to change a tape and record for 60 or 90 more and repeat till you run out of tapes.

You can get a Canon ZR960 for $250. It is a MiniDV tape camcorder, has a Mic jack. You need a firewire (IEEE1394) card ($25 to 30) for the computer and a firewire cable (less than 10) to be able to transfer video to your computer.

Just to add to Number 2 from up above, the movements of you playing your drums would not look good on a consumer level HD camcorder at all.

My husband is deploying to Afghanistan, I have small children and would like to purchase a set of video cameras so that I can video the kids and and he can video small clips through the day to send us later when he has internet access. Thanks for any advice! Again I would like to reiterate that it needs to be affordable with decent quality! and miniature so it's not a pain to carry around!

Answer
If you're just looking for "little" clips to send back and forth, then I suggest either a Flip or Bloggie. The Mino series, for Flip, is slim and light weight, and I believe most of them have 720p capabilities. They record for an hour, or so, worth of filming. The Ultra series, for Flip, is a little bulkier, but records for two hours. The Flip features a USB arm, that "flips" out of the camera and allows for data transfer to the computer to allow a user to send video, and such.

The "Bloggie" series, by Sony, is a slim, lightweight camera that allows a user to record video AND takes still pictures (Even while recording video). There are two versions of the "Bloggie" camera that may interest you. The "Bloggie Touch" is the more advanced, and newer, version that released recently. The image capture is rated at 12.8 megapixels, and the recording capability is 1080p (Albeit, the larger the video, the longer it'll take to send. However, you can switch between 1080p, 720p and 200-something, which is a lightweight video). There's an older version of the "Bloggie" that does the same as the touch, but only captures 5 Megapixel still photos, but it's a little cheaper.

The Flip will run you around 120 - 200 dollars, depending on the model you purchase. The Bloggie will run you around 120 - 160, or so, dollars. Both cameras have around a 2 hour recording time, and the only big difference is the quality they record in, and the ability to take stills. Both are great for "pocket cameras."

What would happen if i was caught masturbating on camera?

David K

Today I parked my car at a park in the back of a trailor (broad daylight). I was going to the park to relax and get ready for my shift. Well as usual, I pulled out my phone and sent a few text messages to friends. A couple minutes passed by, I made the worse mistake possible; I viewed an adult site on my phone and became completely aroused. Next thing I know, I'm unzipping my pants, pulled out my penis and start stroking it for a for 5 minute or so. Yes, I reached climax and ejaculated in a cup. Remember that trailor? Well, I looked forward and on top of the back of the trailor, I see a camera. I'm not sure if the camera is recorded 24/7 but if it did, it would see my every move.. I freaked out and my heart was beating fast, so I drove away quickly. If the video get sent out to fbi, what you think would happen? I don't care if it was posted on the internet for a laugh, but I'm scared I would be registered as a sex offender. Yes, the park has children, but I am not sick. I just happened to be very horny. How long should I wait around before l knowing I'm in the clear. I've been thinking about it all day.
Lol, I can't blame you for thinking I'm a troll. But this scenerio was very much real. :(

Answer
As long as you were not in a public place menacing people then you should be fine. It's public exposure that the police and judges crack down on.

Besides, think about this, what are the chances anyone was even looking or will look at the tape. Cameras are on 24/7. It takes a lot of manpower to sit and review those tapes. If no one in person saw you then I wouldn't worry. The police go after those who are harming others and you harmed no one if no one saw you.

Answer
>'then apologizes with her back turned is this a sign of deception."

"deception"? Deception of what exactly?

>"what type of instructor does that make him and her?"

What do mean by "type"?

>"I have notes on all the comments with dates and time they were said and a personal hidden video camera with audio."

So, what's your relationship to this "student"? What's with all the recorded surveillance, do you belong to some kind of "human rights" watchdog group?

I guess that's good, because your description of this is not really clear!

IMHO there is not enough information here to draw any conclusions!

What is the best external microphone for a camcorder?

cjw4ua

I am needing to video my classroom for National Board Certification. What would be best for me to hook to my camcorder to enhance everyone's sound? It needs to be able to pick up the voices of those in the back of the room, too. By the way, I can't spend too much!

Answer
What model camcorder do you have? What kind of audio input does it have?

Microphones don't enhance sound. They simply record it. The amount, type, and position of your mics will help in coverage of an area. Enhancement can only be done on an audio control board or in editing software outside of your camcorder.

On a professional camcorder camcorder, you will have two xlr ports. Your best bet is to use two mics - a basic shotgun mic http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000FH4OEQ?ie=UTF8&tag=motionpicturecentral-20&linkCode=as2&camp=1789&creative=9325&creativeASIN=B000FH4OEQ to pick up the voices in the back of the room, and a common omni-directional mic http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0002M2U2C?ie=UTF8&tag=motionpicturecentral-20&linkCode=as2&camp=1789&creative=9325&creativeASIN=B0002M2U2C to record the people near the camera but on the far right and left. This set up allows one mic to hear what the other can't. It won't matter which mic you plug into which channel. That will be up to your personal taste. * If you can position the shotgun mic so that all the people you need to hear are in front of the mic when speaking you might not need to use the second mic.

If you have a small consumer level camcorder, it probably has a small mic in port that accepts a 1/8" mini plug (like small pugs on portable headphones) . You will have several options - listed from optimal to simplest:

1. You can purchase an XLR adapter http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000FT7S0Q?ie=UTF8&tag=motionpicturecentral-20&linkCode=as2&camp=1789&creative=9325&creativeASIN=B000FT7S0Q that mounts under your camcorder and plugs into your mini mic input. This will allow you to use the xlr mic like the ones mentioned earlier for the professional camcorder . You can watch a video of how this works http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uOGKJ6mVkDU

2. You can decide to use one type of external mic that plugs into your camcorder - either a shotgun mic for http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0002WTKMU?ie=UTF8&tag=motionpicturecentral-20&linkCode=as2&camp=1789&creative=9325&creativeASIN=B0002WTKMU or an omni-directional http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000095SAQ?ie=UTF8&tag=motionpicturecentral-20&linkCode=as2&camp=1789&creative=9325&creativeASIN=B000095SAQ . * If you already have a mic on your camcorder, you can plug in the external shotgun mic to record the distant speakers and use the camcorder's mic to record the people who are near.

3. If you already have an xlr mic that you want to plug into the mini mic in port on your camcorder, you only need a different cable http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000PA7GDY?ie=UTF8&tag=motionpicturecentral-20&linkCode=as2&camp=1789&creative=9325&creativeASIN=B000PA7GDY .

4. If you have a hot shoe on your camcorder, compact mics are available for them http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0008D5FPE?ie=UTF8&tag=motionpicturecentral-20&linkCode=as2&camp=1789&creative=9325&creativeASIN=B0008D5FPE , but you need to find the right one for your particular camcorder

If you need more help for your particular camcorder and recording situation, visit your local video supply store (not wal-mart, best buy, circuit city, fry's, or any place like that). If you do not have a video supply store in your area (like most places), go to your local musicians supply store - every city has at least 3. They will be not only be able to show you mics for your camera, but they can also help you test them and order them if not in stock.

I'm looking for a good video camera under $600 to record an instructional DVD. It will be on a tripod, so it's not going to really need the ability to film sports or anything. Just good quality video and color. Any suggestions?
Thank you!

Answer
Pretty much any camcorder in this price range will provide similar video quality - though personally, I would suggest you stay with miniDV tape based camcorders because miniDV tape - specifically the DV format stored to the tape - does not compress the digital video data as much a a hard disc drive (HDD) or flash memory based camcorder in the same range.

Your biggest issue will be to have good lighting on your side. I think the Panasonic PV-GS320, Sony DCR-HC52 and Canon ZR900 and ZR930 are good candidates. With the GS320 and HC52, you should also include a field recorder for the audio - M-Audio, Zoom, Edirol and others make decent units. This is because the GS-320 and HC52 do not have a mic-jack. You want to get the mic as close as possible to the person speaking - so in this case, that means getting the camcorder close for the built-in mics. When you edit the video, replace the camcorder audio with the audio from the field recorder.

The ZR900 and ZR930 have a mic jack (in addition to their built-in mics), so mic placement does not need to coincide with camcorder placement.

Since you should be editing, a DVD based camcorder immediately drops from the list and should not be considered.

Your problem will be the sound, not the video. Any camcorder at the lower end of the market is easily overwhelmed by volume levels of the sort you encounter at a gig or rehearsal. Find one that has a seperate audio input (preferably stereo) and run a line out of the desk. Failing that use an external mike and attenuate the signal before it hits the camera.

Answer
Best Buy online has a bunch on sale right now in the $100 range that record straight to flash memory.

http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?id=pcat17080&type=page&qp=crootcategoryid%23%23-1%23%23-1~~q70726f63657373696e6774696d653a3e313930302d30312d3031~~cabcat0400000%23%230%23%23dh~~cabcat0403000%23%230%23%231j~~nf408%7C%7C243530202d202439392e3939&list=y&nrp=15&sc=abCameraCamcorderSP&sp=%2Bbrand+skuid&usc=abcat0400000

The other way to go is to use a webcam and capture straight from youtube (but this usually looks pretty jittery if you are making fast movements).

What's the best point and shoot camera for video recording? Cash limit is $200. Thanks!

Answer
one of the better products in this price range is the Casio Exilim EX-Z80... it has a youtube capture (640x480 @30fps) ...it also records in a higher Wide VGA (848 x 480 @ 30 fps), perfect for watching video on a widescreen monitor or TV. and it records to the H.264/AVC AAC, MOV format... which will allow the video to be transfered to Apple multimedia devices directly without being re-encoded. There are a number of cameras that record video to other formats...such as MJPEG and Quicktime...but the audio portion is usually WAV... and that audio format uses up more space and conversion is needed when watching on PMP devices. Its currently on sale at B&H for $140. This camera is also not a slacker when it comes to other features , face detection, and image quality. Another nice unique feature for video fans is a dedicated Movie button. No need to dig though screen menus and you can go from shutter button to movie button instantly!
Good Luck and happy shooting

might i suggest the Aiptek 720P HD Camcorder Media Player Recorder. I got mine at Target for only $150 and it does everything! I wont lie to you, the sound is not the best but it does great for the price and has ports for an external. For the price I dont think you will find a better camcorder.

And it records on SD so no hassle with tapes! her are a few specs:

⢠Digital Camcorder For MPEG 4 Works with Secure Digital Memory Card
⢠3x Optical Zoom
⢠5MP CCD Video Resolution ; 8.0 Megapixel Digital Still

What is the best camcorder for a traveler?

stillkicki

I want a video camera mainly to record my travels. I will need it to have excellent video quality and great zoom. I also would like it to be able to have many hours of video that would be as compact as possible. I would like it to work well in low light and have decent sound quality. I am a student, so I can't afford anything too expensive (over $600ish). Thanks!

Answer
If you're traveling, I'd go with a MiniDV or HDV camcorder. Hard drive camcorders are too fragile for my liking, and the fact that everything's in one place means you lose the lot if the camcorder's damaged or lost. DVD based camcorders are too awful to even consider!

Don't get suckered into choosing something based on its optical zoom - the higher zooms (say 25+) aren't that useful as the picture becomes too dim and unsteady. Make sure whatever you get feels right for you - you don't want to miss the shot of a lifetime because you couldn't find the right button!

Is there anyway to record video with a dslr camera and record with a lets say, Blue company mic?

anna

I want to start posting covers on youtube. I want to use my future to be. nikon d5100 dslr camera but use a preferably company, blue mic. Is that possible??? I dont have a mac for now. And my computers camera is very poor. Any suggestions/answers???

Answer
Most DSLRs that record video have a jack to allow for mic input too.

Or you can use a separate audio recorder like they have done for more than 100 years in the film world.

The key is to have something that is instantaneous, visual, AND audible. The classic tool for this is the movie slate board (or clapper), there is a $25 ipod app for this, or go analog with one like this...http://ticklespop.com/holmovfildir.html

Or simply clap your hands together in a deliberate fashion.

The slate gives a visual mark on the video, and an audible mark on the audio recorder. Then you just simply alight the audio track to the video track with editing software.

does anyone know how to get a dvdr dis to play on other dvd players?

best video camera for recording church services

best video camera for recording church services image

JMD

I am working with a magnavox dvd player/recorder mwr 10D6 and am using it to record church services by camera. After I finish recording the service on a blank dvdr disc, I remove it from the player and put it in my laptop afterwards, and I get a message saying the disc is blank (which is something I see as odd because it has video burned to it). The remote for this player has no finalize button. Does anyone know how to fix this?

Answer
If you wanna make a DVD that will work on a standard DVD player, you will need a DVD burning tool to do this. Just copy the movie to a DVD disc, it will actually not read by DVD players.

The best and most reliable DVD burning tool that I've ever used is a tool called DVD Creator. It's able to burn all kinds of videos to DVD disc. After that, you can view the DVD on DVD player. It also lets you edit videos and create DVD menus. Easy to use and professional.

You should really give it a try. You may check out at:

Best of luck.

Does the nikon coolpix l110 have a firewire?

Isaac

I need to know so I can record my church services and later make videos and dvds out of them. I was wondering about the firewire because the camera can only take 19 minute videos at a time and it always is a .MOV file and not a .AVI file (desired). So I want to record it onto my computer instead of the camera memory card. Thanks in advance for your help!

Answer
That I know of there's not a digital camera made that uses firewire - all are usb2

How can I make a really good tutorial video?

best video camera for recording basketball

best video camera for recording basketball image

Tito

I would like to make a really good tutorial video so I can upload it to youtube. Any comments will be appreciated...Thanks

Answer
Hi.

I make tutorial videos on YouTube, they are recorded with screen recordings and are edited together. There are two types of video tutorials:

1. Recorded with Video Camera
2. Recorded with Screen Recorder

I personally make my tutorials with screen recorders, because my tutorials are software based. Screen recorders are used to show people whats on the computer screen through your point of view, without resorting to pointing the camera at the screen. Using a screen recorder is suitable for tutorial makers interested in teaching their viewers how to use computer programs.

If this is you, you will need a good mic, and a screen recorder. It is optional but I also recommend a good video editing program like SOny Vegas.

Here is my set up:

Microsoft Lifechat LX-2000 Headset; $40
Camtasia Studio 5; $300
Sony Vegas Pro 8; $600

Now I've been doing this for a long time, and as a result I create very high quality tutorials that are regularly viewed by thousands. You can view them here:
http://www.youtube.com/techtopia

Now, if you want to make a tutorial based on live action things (such as "How to plant a tree", or "How to do a layup in basketball") You will need a video camera.

These range from about $90 - $1,000.
The Canon HV30 is an excellent video camera, it records in HD, it has remarkable features, and is easy to set up. It costs about $900
http://www.usa.canon.com/consumer/controller?act=ModelInfoAct&fcategoryid=177&modelid=16206

Again, you will also need a video editing program. Sony Vegas Pro 9 is the new release candidate and its about $650.
http://www.sonycreativesoftware.com/vegaspro

I would also recommend getting a basic lighting kit. What I do is I go to Home Depot and pick up three work clamp lights, these are like $7 each and clamp to almost anything - this allows you to get the three lighting sets: The key light, the fill light, and the optional back light.

You may also want to consider getting a good green screen and a boom mic. This will improve your video quality.

Think long and hard about your tutorials. Ask yourself things like "Who will be watching my tutorials?" and "What will they already know, and be expected to learn?"

Then write a small script. Don't read directly from it, just jot down some ideas and think about what to say before you record it - remember that you can edit these out later.

If your looking to start a hobby out of this, try using an Internet pseudonym. Mine is Techtopia.

Tutorial making is fun and can be a great profession. Even at 13 years old, which is my age, I can earn lots of money doing it. I know one tutorial maker, who gets paid on average about $600 monthly to make video tutorials. Just put some time and effort into it, and it should turn out to be an interesting experience. If you need any help contact me on YouTube - http://www.youtube.com/techtopia

how do i burn a dvd while recording live?

Joe

I am a college basketball coach. It would be extremely efficient if, after filming the game, we had a finished copy of the game already burnt onto a dvd.

I am trying to skip the step of have two mini-dvds and having to burn them onto a larger disc after the game.

Answer
This is actually pretty easy.

You will need two things - a dvd recorder and a video camera with an audio/video output.

It will work better if you have the camera on a tripod. Connect the AV output on the camera to the AV input on the recorder using the AV cable that comes with the camera.

Both items should be available at any Walmart or online. Your current camera may work too as long as it has an AV output.

If you need more help, feel free to e-mail me.

Hello,
what is the best digital camera for recording an artsy film looking music video on a budget of 450.00

Answer
Really there is no dSLR that is designed to record music the way it needs to be recorded, 20-20kHz.

Entry level camera with a video feature are mono only audio input and to get the best recording levels, You need to buy a separate microphone as well

Here is what a dSLR looks like when outfitted with all the accessories needed to shoot video with sound.

http://mauromedia.com/cameras/dslr-shoulder-mount-mauromedia-tech/

Just the stereo audio component will use up your whole budget.

The guys that used to shoot music video in our studio used real video cameras like the Panansonic P2 series cameras.

Link:

http://www.panasonic.com/business/provideo/P2HD-solid-state-camcorder.asp

You may want to rethink your project and rent the correct tool for the job of creating a music video and see if you can get hired as part of the crew on a music video production to learn exactly how one is made, from writing the script to final edit and what costs are involved

NOTE: Photoshop CS5 is a still photography retouching program. You will need something like Adobe Premiere Pro to edit video

Is there a digital camera where you can see yourself while you're filming videos? Like a front screen?

Tina

I know Samsung came out with a digital camera with a front LCD screen (TL220, TL225, etc) but the front LCD screen doesn't work while you're recording videos. I want a digital camera in the range of 100-300USD that can film HD videos. Or if you guys have any camcorder suggestions, that would be helpful too. thanks!
