Need Help With Live Church Services!!?

T

We are trying to broadcast our church service in our nursery so the ladies in the back can still watch the services. We already have a screen in the front of the church that we put powerpoint things on.. I was thinking maybe we could hook a camcorder up to the computer and broadcast that way but we would need something to hook up to the front screen that would allow the others in the nursery to see what we see on our screen... Anything will be appreciated!!! thanks!

Answer
Video Projection Set-Up
Live video stream, recorded videos & ppt projected on-screen

Accessories: (just Google)
- ATEN VS 881 Video Switcher- w/ 8 VGA (15pin) port inputs; allows Prodn switching among 8 video signals from diff.devices (pc, vcam, Dvdplayer, etc.); ONE video OUT; screen blanking in case something goes wrong; boosts signal up to 215 feet; best ATEN switcher

- ATEN VS 94A Splitter -w/ 4 VGA port outputs to 2 LCD projectors and 1 Prodn Monitor; boosts signals up to 210 feet

- Cables: 3 short VGA cables- 3 PCs to switcher (male->female plugs); 2 ATEN special VGA cables (female VGA plug-switcher end & RCA (camera end) + 2 long co-axial video cables RCA ends for 2 cameras; 1 short VGA cable- Switcher to Splitter; 2 long VGA cables- from Splitter to 2 Projectors (male->female plugs); 1 short VGA cable- Splitter to Prodn.Monitor (all male plugs); 3 sound** cables-PC to mixer

- PC or Laptop (best): 1- Prodn-LIVE, 1- Edit, 1- Blanking

â¦â¦â¦â¦..*Note: dotted lines above are not connections.

Video switching locates near Sound Mixing (at the back?) for sound **connection pc=>mixer & easy production sync & also minimize disturbance @ front. Audio-Video crew should be in black shirts

Why 3 Computers (minimum-2 w/very good preparation): short video/PPT intro; lyrics inSync w/praise songs; slideshows, e.g.,church & nursery activities; Key phrases on Ministers' talk for impact; announcements, light momments; record full on camera but select right timing for big screen switch between vcam & computer. Finally, thanks to minister & community/ choir/ sponsors/ credits to organizers/ short nursery video =>have to be shown @ ending ⦠howâs that.

Added value: key phrases for easy recall during readings & talks; visual lyrics tend to help community join praise worship; announcements- best recall w/sight & sound; video on screen for those outside venue; awareness of the community on church & nursery activites- past & future events,

Wish (but much too complicated):
***Transition during image switch has few m.sec lapse, not so smooth, but acceptable=> Wish: addition of a production video mixer- prof/smooth transition; allows superimposed text on video or PiP. Nice to have equipment- relatively expensive, but who knows, someone might offer free use, including 'crew'.

Video recording my church services?

Alex Jones

We are a pretty small congregation (around 100 people) and we're wanting to start recording our services to post online for some of our members that are either home bound or stationed somewhere in the military and can't be at our services. We're have a pretty small budget and aren't wanting to create something extraordinary and emmy winning. We were planning on just having one camera mounted on the ceiling in the center aisle of the church, pointing at the pulpit. We were going to get one of the joy stick controllers for the panning and zooming, and sending the feed to a laptop to be saved and later uploaded. The problem is no one any video recording experience and aren't sure what all we need or what type of software is needed.

So basically, we're looking for 1 camera and wanting to know what kind would be the best. The joystick used to control it, and what type of software we would need to save it to the computer.

The last thing is the question about the audio. We have a lapel mic and it's hooked up to a soundboard. Would we be able to use the audio feed and video feed together when recording.

I realize this is a lot to try to explain via the internet but any help would be extremely appreciated. Also, we're wanting to stay withing a budget of $1,000 to $2,000. Thanks

Need help with what video camera I need!?

Connor

So I'm not an expert in video camera specs, or what I need and where to look. I like to edit, and shoot videos. I'm also not willing to spend $3000 on one of the new 2010-2012 model professional JVC, Panasonic or Sony video cameras, so I'm looking for a model around 2004-2009 that will only cost about $600-1200 (but more likely $800). I want a shotgun microphone attached, and a great focus feature. It can be used or new, but if it's used, it can't have any damage to the lens or to the parts or have any broken features. If you can't find me any models, could you tell me what I should be searching for? What keywords? Because when I search up something like "2008 Sony professional video camera" it gives me home camcorders or new models, or models that are worth like $3000 (because the posts were made at the time the cameras were released). I would much appreciate it if someone could help me out. Thanks :)

Canon PowerShot A1300 16.0 MP Digital Camera with 5x Digital Image Stabilized Zoom 28mm Wide-Angle Lens with 720p HD Video Recording Great camera for the price. Purchased the camera in May 2012 to shoot family events, friends ect. You could not ask for a better price vs performance camera. Very simple to use, excellent picture and video quality. I would suggest getting a cushioned camera case that includes the USB thumb drive reader for $10, the case is perfect for travel and storage when not in use. The USB reader is a great option when offloading the memory card.

What is a good hd video camera for a good price?

I want a good 1080p hd video camera for a good price. I was thinking around the 250$-300$ range. I don't know if it is possible but if any one knows of any good deals let me know.
Thanks

best digital camera with video recording and over 8mp for under $150.00?

taylorg939

this would be my 5th camera due to either breaking it or hating it.
i like taking pictures but i love making movies even more so i want something that's good with both.

-thanks

Answer
While most cameras take video, and some camcorders take photos; to get the best of both, you need both. Have not seen a camera that compares with the video from a camcorder and camcorders can't take good quality photos. Suggest the least expensive Canon Camcorder and the Canon A590IS camera.
http://www.usa.canon.com/consumer/controller?act=ModelInfoAct&fcategoryid=174&modelid=16172#ModelFeaturesAct ...

What gives a camera its picture quality?
It is mostly the skill of the photographer that produces high quality pictures. The lens and camera are very important, but the ability to set the scene, adjust the cameras settings, and hold the camera very still or use a tripod with auto or remote shutter actuation when required is what gets the great pictures. Mega pixel resolution is about potential photo size, not picture quality.

In new cameras, look for a viewfinder (LCD invisible in bright sun), optical image stabilizer, and check battery prices. High mega pixel settings take longer to process and may not be needed unless required for very large pictures. Maximum print size for a 3 mega pixel setting is 8 x 10 inches. Click links below for more details.
http://www.kodak.com/eknec/PageQuerier.jhtml?pq-path=398&pq-locale=en_US&_requestid=2039 ...
http://www.kenrockwell.com/tech/mpmyth.htm ...

The Canon A590IS is a slightly older model that is available everywhere at great sale prices. Think it is a great camera and a best buy. It has auto focus, a viewfinder, optical image stabilization, and uses rechargeable NiMH batteries.
http://www.imaging-resource.com/PRODS/A590IS/A590ISA.HTM ...
http://bountii.com/deal-1523871-canon-powershot-8-0-megapixel.html ...

For expanded wide angle or telephoto capabilities, the A590 IS is compatible with Canon's accessory lens adapters: A small button next to the lens bezel is actually a latch; press it and you can remove the bezel ring, exposing a bayonet mount for accessory lenses. Canon offers the WC-DC52 0.7x wide-angle lens, the TC-DC52A telephoto lens, the 250D 52mm closeup lens separately, along with the LA-DC52G adapter to mount them on the camera. (Note that the wide, tele, and macro lenses all need the LA-DC52G adapter to mount them to the camera. The lenses won't work by themselves.)

There is no one particular place to get great buys, but you may see something above that really helps you find the best buy. Click on the second link in the information above for an example then search for your camera of choice at the upper left. Camera prices at this link change often.

This could be the best slim line camera with a viewfinder and ... It's PINK, but it uses a $49.50 Series G Rechargeable 960mAh lithium-ion battery.
http://shopping.yahoo.com/p:Sony%20Cyber-shot%20DSC-W150%2FR%20Digital%20Camera:1995337750;_ylc=X3oDMTB0bjZzaWNuBF9TAzk2NjMyOTA3BHNlYwNmZWVkBHNsawNlbGVj ...

There are so many cameras out there it is difficult to say which is best. The second source link will be very helpful as it list most of the cameras out there with prices. The following information should help you know what to look for in a camera.

CAUTION Do not overcharge! Batteries can be damaged. Use an automatic two or more hour Energizer Compact smart charger with temperature monitor, trickle charge technology, and safety timer ($9.76) at Walmart. Use pre-charged 2000mAh Duracell ($12.97) or RayOVac ($5.97) batteries (both hold charge one year) and a full cycle charge. To preserve battery charge, use the viewfinder.

CAUTION To prevent memory card corruption, keep batteries charged and don't delete. Wait for lights to stop flashing then turn camera off before removing memory. For card readers, double click Safely Remove Hardware. Select, then click Stop and OK.

Lots of great camera tips in this link.
http://www.danscamera.com/Learning/going_digital/#resolution ...

My camera has 5.2 mega pixel, but I use 3 most of the time because it gives great results, is faster, and takes less memory. Also, it only has a 3 x optical zoom and 7 x digital zoom. I never use the digital zoom because making pictures larger works better on the computer. This is an old camera, but everyone is impressed with the quality pictures it takes ... like magic.

Check with the Geeks in several stores and compare prices. Once you select a camera, read all about it in the owner's manual. You can view owners manuals at this link, but will need to Login. http://www.retrevo.com/s/digital+camera ...

The source links show most of the cameras out there with prices and make digital cameras work better with help on cleaning camera and battery electrical contacts.

Is there a setting on a digital camera to prevent sound distortion during video recording?

J

Is there a setting on a digital camera to prevent sound distortion during video recording (where there is loud bass in the environment such as a concert)?

When I take video with my Canon SX260 digital camera, the sound gets distorted when there is loud bass in the environment. For example, sound in the video always gets distorted when I shoot video at concerts.

This video on YouTube is exactly what happened to my Canon SX260:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZgK57t9_g7Q&list=UUyXqYTlNZEVOowEg6hPG18g&index=1

Thanks

Answer
Your Canon PowerShot SX260 is aconsumer point&shoot camera designed to capture still images. Capturing video (and audio) is a "convenience feature".

Read the manual:
http://gdlp01.c-wss.com/gds/7/0300007147/01/pssx260hs-sx240hs-cug-c-en.pdf
There is no setting or option to change/control the audio gain. Your reported symptom is a common one - but not unexpected. If you get a camera designed for video (and audio) capture, there may be some sort of audio gain control. I am not aware of any point and shoot camera that has any sort of audio gain control. All will be overpowered by loud audio.

Your SX260 is about $300. For around the same $ the Canon HF R200 has audio gain control. Read the manual: http://gdlp01.c-wss.com/gds/3/0300004613/01/HFR20_21_200_IM_N_EN.pdf
See Page 75.

If you do not want to replace the SX260, then you can record the audio separately using a digital audio recorder with manual audio gain control. I like (and use) the Zoom H2. The H1 is less $ (and less featured). You can easily synch the externally captured audio with the video when you edit - after synching, mute the poor audio captured by the camera.

Is it illegal to record a teacher teaching in a classroom?

Nick L

Answer
It depends on what you are recording (do you mean voice or actual video with a video camera?). If you are recording voice (ie a lecture) you should approach your acedemic and ask if they mind... most lectureres dont mind provided it is for academic study (to take notes, help with study).

Re actual video recoding, I could confidently say you would need to get clearence, especially if there were people other than the teacher featuring in the video.

I would suggest you approach the teacher you are interested in recording, and take it from there,

Which video tool to use to merge two videos of the same view recorded by two separate cameras?

ElvirsS

hello, I need a tool that could merge recordings of the same view by two separate cameras located at different angles and eliminate the object that appears to both cameras. Imagine I want to record the classroom, whats on the blackboard to be more precise, but there is always a teacher walking between the cameras and the blackboard. If I locate two cameras in two different corners of the room under different angles from the blackboard so that each of them sees a the blackboard and the teacher but each of them will have different blind spots on the blackboard. when I combine the two views merging them on common region (part which both cameras can see) I will be able to get the view of entire blackboard. please refer to this pic to understand what I mean *ttp://i56.tinypic.com/2reo08i.png Is there any tool that can automatically do that? thanks a lot I really need this for my term project at the university

How can I record video games to my mac without using a video camera?

Mark

Please do not tell me to purchase Eyetv, Eyetv only lets you use your mac as a screen for when you play video games, it does not record the game.

Answer
If the game you are playing is on your Mac, then you need a screen capture utility...

Some do single screen shots - which you do not want. Others end up capturing QuickTime movies of the screen - which is what you want...

http://www.pure-mac.com/screen.html

Or... if you have a game console, you will want three "y" cables... 1 for video, one for left audio, one for right audio.

Plug the "y" cables into the game console. One side goes to the TV like normal, the other side goes to a Canopus video converter
http://canopus.com/products/videoconversion.php
Then a firewire cable connects the Canopus video converter to your Mac. Launch iMovie or FinalCut and import the game play...

USB based video converters will not work.

What is the best camera to record video games with that's fairly cheap?

Alex Petie

I record some videos for youtube like Monster Hunter Tri hunts and my camera doesnt have great video or sound quality. So I am just seeing if there is a better camera for me to use if anyone knows of one.
My current camera is a HD SONY Bloggie, and the HD barley works....

Answer
there really isn't a good video camera to record video games. the best thing to do is use a capture card. there is a dazzle dvd recorder that costs like fifty dollars. if you have a HDTV and play on it, you gott a get hd pvr, the best capture card but costs 200 dollars.

A good camera or a camcorder for recording music cover videos?

Sheikh

I need a good camera or a camcorder for recording music cover videos and music videos . I'll be using a external mic so the sound of the camera won't matter much. But I want a camera with high quality video capacity and my budget is under 200 dollars

Answer
All digital still cameras an most camcorders in your price range do not have a mic jack - so recording the audio separately is likely required.

Less expensive camcorders have small lenses and imaging chip and will not record video well under low-light or poor indoor lighting conditions. You end up spending money on lighting. As the recording device increases in cost, the lenses and imaging chip get larger allowing for better low/poor light behavior. While that lens diameter and imaging chip size increases, the camera's feature set increases and various controls start moving out of the menu and to the outside of the camcorder.

Point and shoot cameras are designed to capture digital still images. Capturing video (and audio) are secondary "convenience features". No mic connection and very limited other controls...

Any device can capture decent video if the lighting is adequate. This could be as simple as capturing video outside during bright, sunny conditions or inside adding lights like tripod-mouted worklights (relatively inexpensive - or maybe already in the garage?) from the hardware store... or as complex (and expensive) as getting PAR56 cans mounted to light trees and use dimmers...

You should also use some sort of steadying device... this could be a chair, floor, shelf, stack of books or a tripod...

Handheld camera for live gigs?

My Auty =]

Looking for a handheld camera for recording video and sound for live gigs, a good example of what results I'm looking for is the quality of this video, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SxjXMpMmRiQ

Answer
for video quality... this will depend on the lighting...
Luckily for that sample you provided, the lighting guy really knew what he was doing and lit the stage very well. Not every performance will be like that.
Camera suggestions could be any digital camera. Heck, a common iphone could have recorded that with similar video quality.

For audio quality... ... you'll need a camera that will support a mic input.

Best suggestion:
Canon G12
http://www.photographybay.com/2011/01/24/canon-powershot-g12-review/

- features a tilt screen so you can hold the camera high and still see the stage while looking at the screen
- has a hot shoe to put a microphone
- mic imput jack

additional research on external mic

Answer
Log into your Facebook account. Click on the PROFILE tab at the top of the page.

2
If you want to record a video to add, click the VIDEO icon at the top of the page (under WALL, INFO, PHOTOS, etc.) and then click RECORD. If you have a webcam, you can record a video and it will go directly to your Facebook page.

3
If you want to add a video you have recorded and saved to your computer, click the VIDEO icon at the top of the page and click UPLOAD. You will browse your hard drive and choose the video to upload. (Note: The upload process can take a while. Just be patient and don't click away or you will have to start over.)

4
You can also add a video to your profile that you see on someone else's Facebook page. Just click on the video, and underneath you will see COMMENT and SHARE. Click SHARE. You can either post the video to your profile or send it to friends in your address book.

5
You can also add videos directly from YouTube. Just go to the YouTube site and find the video you want to add to your profile. Under the video, you will see icons for sharing options such as Digg, StumbleUpon, and Facebook. Click the Facebook icon and you will have the option to post the video to your profile, or to send to friends in your Facebook address book.

6
The sharing option above also applies to most other sites that host videos such as Google Videos, Yahoo Videos, AOL Videos, Meta Café, Flickr, etc. If you find a video on the internet, chances are that you can upload it to Facebook through a sharing function.

I wanted to upload some videos onto youtube of myself singing but I was wondering how to upload it so it doesn't keep skipping like that.

Answer
When using a DSLR camera for filming a video make sure you have a fast CF Card the following one is fast and good. The speed of the card is good as it is 30 MB/s and will allow for a better buffering when it is loaded on to the card from the camera.

SanDisk SDCFH-004G-A11 4GB 30MB/s ULTRA CF Card

As I was looking around I found that YouTube has some training videos on their site I hope this helps:

What is the best SLR camera that has HD video recording as well for a beginner on a high school budget?

erica_yu_h

I'm interested in both photography and videography. Since it's too expensive to buy an SLR AND an HD videocam, I thought buying two in one would be best. :) I only have point-and-shoot cameras and videocams (that aren't HD). I'm taking up photography and videography sometime soon.

Answer
Your best bet would be between the Canon Rebel T2i/550d or the Nikon D5000. The Rebel puts out 1080p, while the Nikon only 720p. If you can afford the Rebel take it, it has some of the best quality for photography as well as video recording, but the D5000 isn't that far behind plus its a lot cheaper than the Rebel.

how do u make a digital camera have flash while recording a video at night?

SelenaGome

i want to take a video at night in the dark but i dont know how to make it have flash or light while taking the video my camera is polaroid and its digital

Answer
It is not practical to do that.

Flash is only for still pictures, meaning 1 press of the shutter 1 flash, 1 picture, this is called 1 frame. This has to sync with your camera or you don't get a picture. Some cameras can give you a few flashes continuous but this is never used for video.

video needs continuous source of light because video shoots anywhere from 30 frames down to a few frames per second, also depends if your camera has capability to adjust frames per second for video.

For example surveillance camera systems shoot from 1 to 30 frames per second, they are usually set 2 or 5 frames to save on storage space.

flash also needs to recharge between use, usually takes a few seconds for flash to charge up and give that tremendous burst of light for that 1 picture. Better models can recycle the flash faster, it also discharges your batteries really fast.

NV Video camera question about SD cards - How many hours will an 8G SD card record in Night Vision?

Lori

I recently purchased a Bell & Howell Night Vision video camera. I also purchased two 8G SD cards. Does anyone know how many hours of recording they will hold? Thank you!

Answer
Is it the DNV900HD camera? Knowing the exact model would have made it easier to look up the specifications. The Product Description section for this model on Amazon.com indicates that with the maximum amount of memory installed (2x32GB or 64GB of memory) the camera can record "more than 20 hours" of video. You have 1/4 of that amount (16GB), so I expect that you can record at least five hours.

The night vision capability should not make any difference in how much space is needed to record video, but look for settings to change the resolution: lower settings will use less space. I could not find a manual online, but if you have the user's Guide, it may contain information about storage requirements at different settings.

What are the ideal settings to record great video in low light conditions on my Canon Vixia HG20 camera?

Raj

Love my Canon Vixia HG20 - except low-light is less than superior. Any suggestions would be approciated.

Answer
Rick is correct.

There is no consumer-grade camcorder that does well in "low light". The lenses and imaging chips are too small.

If you stay with that camcorder, then the suggestion is to turn on lights or use a video light.

If you need good low-light performance, then you must use a camcorder with bigger lenses and imaging chips (preferably in a 3-chip - CCD or CMOS - array). Big lenses allow more light in; big imaging chips do more with less light. Big glass and big chips are expensive - but the low light behavior is what draws the prosumer and professional users to them. If inexpensive consumer cams did well in low-light, the pros would be using them.

Time-Lapse Video Help?

Paisley

My professor video taped a presentation I did on her video camera but she recorded it as a time-lapse video. Is there any way this could be fixed? I was hoping to keep this video since it was part of my year long project. Thanks for the help!

Answer
Unless the time lapse was actually fast forward, no. If it was a time lapse mode she recorded in, then her camera took one frame every x number of seconds and it plays back at the normal speed of say 30 frames per second. Any information that took place between each frame is lost for good.

It's like taking a before and after shot with nothing documenting the in- bweeen steps.

how do you record good quality sound from hd video camera?

Taz

it is a live event and I have full access to video rights ,the sound and the p.a system.

Answer
In this case, get a Digital Audio Recorder and the cable needed to hook this to the PA system. Record the audio separately, this venue probably has better audio capture hardware, make use of it. Then mix audio in post on your NLE timeline. Then be a roving camera operator, does not matter what sounds you capture, if you have a good enough NLE, lock down this audio from camcorder as a separate file and use it as room noise. Be better and beg, borrow some body to help you, use two or three camcorders and make a good presentation in the end, no ne needs to worry what sound they are capturing, only the video image.

When using a device to capture audio that is not your camcorder, use this tip to be able to SYNC your audio and video together once both are put on a timeline for video editing purposes. Standing close to Microphone, in front of your camcorder, with both recording devices recording the video and audio, CLAP, LOUDLY. Now so long as the recorders stay recording, you have a sync point so when you get back to the computer, it is much easier to sync the audio and video together.

Most of all, have fun.

What is the best digital camera?

Sis

I would like one that is compact, buttons that aren't really tiny, lets me record videos, download photos on2 an ipod possibly, and can produce really good pictures like crystal clear.

Answer
There are so many cameras out there it is difficult to say which is best, but digital is definitely the way to go. The following link will be very helpful as it list most of the cameras out there with prices. http://reviews.cnet.com/digital-cameras/ ...

What gives a camera its picture quality? The following information should help you know what to look for in a camera.

The short answer is that it is mostly the skill of the photographer that produces high quality pictures. The lens and camera are very important, but the ability to set the scene, adjust the cameras settings, and hold the camera very still or use a tripod with auto or remote shutter actuation when required is what gets the great pictures.

Many of the new cameras come with only an LCD screen. Would suggest that you find one that also has an optical view finder because the LCD screen is almost impossible to see in bright sun.

Higher mega pixels may not really be the best thing to look for. It is more expensive, takes longer to process, and may not be needed unless you are making a really large picture or blowing up a small part of a picture. http://www.kodak.com/eknec/PageQuerier.jhtml?pq-path=398&pq-locale=en_US&_requestid=2039 ...

Lots of great camera tips in these two links. http://www.danscamera.com/Learning/going_digital/#resolution ...

Check this camera. FUJIFILM - FinePix 10.0-Megapixel Digital. This is more camera for the money.
Wide-angle shooting, a 12x optical zoom and picture stabilization mode combine in this camera for exceptional shooting performance, even at a distance. Plentiful scene modes, autofocus and automatic white balance controls make this camera a snap to operate. Life time Warranty (Parts & Labor). You may be able to find it on the Internet for a lower price ($144), but be careful of the vendor.

This could be the best slim line camera. It's PINK!

The information about my camera is just to show that you don't need the biggest and best. Just know how to use the one you have.

My camera has 5.2 mega pixel, but I use 3 most of the time because it gives great results, is faster, and takes less memory. Also, it only has a 3 x optical zoom and 7x digital zoom. I never use the digital zoom because making pictures larger works better on the computer. This is an old camera, but everyone is impressed with the quality pictures it takes ... like magic.

Check with the Geeks in several stores and compare prices. Ask what cameras they own, but don't believe everything you hear. Once you select a camera read all about it in the owner's manual. You may be able to view the owners manual at this link. http://www.retrevo.com/s/digital+camera ...

The source links will show most of the cameras out there with prices and help make your digital cameras work better.

Digital Camera with good video recording quality?

qanda15

Can you recommend a small digital camera that has very good video recording quality? Basically I want something almost as good as a video camera, but that fits in my pocket.

Answer
I use a Canon Digital Ixus 850 IS (also known as Canon Powershot SD800 Digital Elph), which has excelent movie quality. It even makes me wonder if a camcorder is justifiable anymore and with a 4 or 8 GB SDHC card you can record up to 1 hour of video at 640x480 30fps and the movie looks splendid. The camera is ultra-compact, very stylish, round with no protrusions and nothing to snag into your clothes, fits easily in your jeans pocket and has a durable metal body which has resisted so far 3 drops on the floor, cement, a hard hit with the lens opened and still works perfectly.

How do you know if a digital camera can record video from concerts and have clear sound?

Sebastian

I have a kodak easyshare, v1253, 12 mega pixel, HD, didgital camera. I wanted to be able to record video at madonnas concert with clear sound. with my old camera, the sound from the gwen stefani concert came out terrible. you couldnt even tell what she was saying. please dont reccomend me another camera. just tell me whether this specific camera can take clear sound. (i want to know, so i know whether to take videos, or save the room for more pictures).

heres the site:

http://www.kodak.com/eknec/PageQuerier.jhtml?pq-path=11617&pq-locale=en_US&_requestid=3153
Just in case that same guy answers this question as well, then yes, i am a patriotic american, so get over it :\

Answer
Even if you buy a handycam there won't be a clear sound recorded on the handycam.Your camera is a digital camera and this is a universal fact that the mic in digital cameras always record a low quality audio as they can't sacrifice the video quality. So if you are in a mood to take silent videos then go for your camera but not for environments like concerts, live shows , movies and even your home videos.I would say that your camera having capabilities of capturing HD images , you should "save the room for more pictures".

best camcorder to record concerts in low light.?

Marcin Kal

HI,

im looking for some advise on cameras to use in low light places light concerts.
I need to be able to record live shows where at times the visibility isnt so great.
I also need something affordable.

Thanks for all replies

Answer
Good "low light" video recording quality = LARGE lenses and large imaging chips. Anything less than about $2,500 won't have these. As well, LOUD audio at the concerts = manual audio gain control is needed.

Assuming we start with the manual audio control and medium lenses and single imaging chip, take a look at the Canon HF S20 and HF S200. The Sony HDR-CX550 is worth a look, too. All of these have a 58mm lens filter diameter and single CMOS OK-sized imaging chip. I use a Sony HDR-FX1 (which was replaced by the HDR-FX1000). It does great in low light - but it has a 72mm lens filter diameter and 1/3" 3CCD imaging chip system.

Below the HF S200 and CX550 you will find most of the camcorders use a 37mm lenses filter diameter - or smaller (30.5mm) and have smaller single imaging chips... and most do not have manual audio gain control...

"Affordable" means different things to different people for different reasons. Since camcorders can range from $50 to $50,000, a $1,000 camcorder is not exactly unreasonable and is actually in the high end of the consumer camcorder price range...

Best Video Camera Brand For Recording Guitar Playing.?

Dusty F

Whats the best video camera to use for recording people playing guitar & thats compatable with Windows Movie Maker

Answer
For compatibility with WMM, go for a MiniDV camcorder - the brand doesn't really matter. I was assuming you were going to record in your room rather than on stage, so you'll need an external mic to avoid recording the camera noise. If you need to play loudly, you'll need some manual gain control to avoid adding unwanted distortion - camcorders don't go up to 11.

Is there a point and shoot digital camera with optical zoom while recording a video?

aimee13714

Is there a good quality point and shoot digital camera that allows for optical zoom while recording a video? Not digital zoom, which just crops the frame you already have and makes the video blurry and undefined, but optical zoom, which actually zooms into what ever you're looking at without the blurriness of the digital zoom. Thanks so much for your help :)
Is there a camera with all of the qualities above that is compact. For example, a camera that could fit in a jacket pocket.

My webcam will not let me record videos?

Cbizzlee

I have an ArcSoft webcam i just got for christmas. When I first got it i could make videos as much as i wanted. The button is still there but its unavailable. I can not click on it and it will not let me record any videos. I have no idea what to do it hasn't been working since early january. If someone can please let me know how to get my camera working and able to record videos again that'd be great!

Answer
If you are looking for a program that can capture videos and take snaphots from the webcam, use Windows Live Movie Maker 2011:
http://explore.live.com/windows-live-movie-maker

Set the program through the Options menu to allow the webcam as your video source. You may record and edit the video right there, put effects, background audio, save, burn to DVD or even publish directly to your favorite social networking sites. You can also take snapshots of selected frames.

Make sure your webcam driver is installed and working. Otherwise, you won't see your webcam in the list of sources.

What's a good camera for recording video and taking pictures?

KRunner

I want a fancy camera that isn't over $600. I want it to be digital and have an amazing zoom and close up picture ability. I also want it to be able to record video too.

Answer
With that price your fancy camera could actually become one of the digital SLR cameras.

One is $40 above your budget but real great is Nikon D3000

but if you want to save budget, actually these $100-$300 cameras will do the tasks just fine for amateur photography.

What is the best action video camera that can take pictures too?

V V

I want to take good quality video of action events - mounts on cars, helmets etc. so that i can sell it to people, also i want the same camera to be able to link to an instant photo printer.

What video camera could do this? I am from South Africa and my budget is +-R10,000 or $1,200 or less. If there is nothing at this range then what is the next most inexpensive one and at how much?

One more thing, it must be able to link up to a computer and store footage/pictures directly on the computer.
Thank you for that reply Vwbe, but I have looked at Drift and Go Pro but this is not good enough quality from the videos i saw when the videos are compared and shown at the same time on YouTube when viewed on even 720HD. It is not smooth enough for my purposes, as there is still a bit of jerkiness that makes it look home "videoey".

Camera and Camcorder Info?

Q. I want to buy a camera and I'm torn between getting a digital camera or an SLR camera. I also want a camcorder that can record in standard definition. The problem is, i don't want to spend a lot of money and i'm not sure where to go.

I want to go to best buy, but i feel like i might get a deal on craigslist or if i go to a non chain store or a store that isn't best buy.

Is craigslist a good deal?
Where else can I go to buy a camera or camcorder that isn't best buy, target, kmart, or walmart?
Any tips or hints to purchasing something new?

I am beginning to teach golf, what are some of the better cameras to use to record swings?

Dylon S

I have a handful of clients, but am not yet making too much money, so my budget is kind of low. I was originally looking for a high speed camera (like the one CBS uses) but figured that was too much money. Also what are the things I should look into for the best quality of seeing the swings that are 100 MPH +.

Answer
Any decent digicam with video will work. I would suggest one that records video in AVI, or some flavor of AVI, instead of Quicktime. It's just easier to work with.

Get 2, one facing the front of the player, and one facing the direction the ball is being hit... catch both at once,

You'll also need something to hold the camera, a tripod of some sort. No more than your average Canon pocket camera weighs, the $25 Walmart tripods will work.
