What's the best point and shoot camera for video recording?

Q. What's the best point and shoot camera for video recording? Cash limit is $200. Thanks!

A. one of the better products in this price range is the Casio Exilim EX-Z80... it has a youtube capture (640x480 @30fps) ...it also records in a higher Wide VGA (848 x 480 @ 30 fps), perfect for watching video on a widescreen monitor or TV. and it records to the H.264/AVC AAC, MOV format... which will allow the video to be transfered to Apple multimedia devices directly without being re-encoded. There are a number of cameras that record video to other formats...such as MJPEG and Quicktime...but the audio portion is usually WAV... and that audio format uses up more space and conversion is needed when watching on PMP devices. Its currently on sale at B&H for $140. This camera is also not a slacker when it comes to other features , face detection, and image quality. Another nice unique feature for video fans is a dedicated Movie button. No need to dig though screen menus and you can go from shutter button to movie button instantly!
Good Luck and happy shooting

How is the camera and video recorder on the new ipod touch?
Q. I was wondering if the camera and video recording was good quality. Also if its worth getting it. And also about the face chat.

Thanks

A. It's decent. It's not like the best thing on the market but itll do if you just want to take pictures or video in the light. FaceTime is awesome, it's very smooth and now you can even facetime chat with people who own macs

which is more telling, a mirror, a camera or a video recording ?
Q. I've seen all three of myself, in the mirror, on camera and on a video recording. I find myself to be the best looking in a mirror. I can handle the way I look in the mirror, but especially in pictures
I think I look ugly. So which more telling, the camera or the mirror or the video recording ?

A. Actually, your image in the mirror is seen in reverse. That is the way you see yourself most often and the way you think you look. The still photo or video is the way you do look. The video recording contains the most information and would be the most telling.

How can I improve the sound quality for videos recorded on my digital camera?

Q. Is there something I can buy (such as a microphone) that will give the videos I record on my digital camera a better sound? I recently went to a concert with my new digital camera in tow and when I got home, the videos I had recorded were terrible! You couldn't even hear the singer. I realize concerts will have much more bass than everyday situations, but still, I'd like to have nice videos of concerts. Anyway, thanks for your help!

A. If you think you can sneak a boom mike into a concert, I'd use that, that'll give you the best quality. But you can just use microphones for a some what better quality.

how to you view a video you have recorded with the discovery kids digital camera/video camera?
Q. we bought our daughter a used discovery kids digital camera/video camera. i can take video with it but i do not know how to watch the video after i take it. the camera did not come with a manual and i can't find it on line.

A. It seems that you use a USB cable to connect it to a computer and download the videos/photos that way.

From photos I can't tell what the button next to the USB socket says. Is it Mode? I'd guess that may switch between taking photos/videos and replaying them.

Is there a way to set up a digital camera to record video from your computer and record sound from a mic?
Q. I have a digital camera that records video but the sound quality isn't good. Is there a way to plug it in to my laptop and set it up to where it records video onto the computer while recording sound from a mic?

I plan on making drum covers and I need good sound quality in order to do so. If you know a way to do this PLEASE tell me cause i really need to know.

A. There seems to be no way to set up the cam like this...

Good luck!

Does HD video on a regular digital camera compare to a Flip camera?

Q. I don't want to lug around a still camera and a pocket HD video camera. Is the video recording on the new digital point & shoots comparable to the Flip and it's competitors, or is a dedicated video camera better?

A. the video quality of most digital point and shoot cameras is about equivilent to the quality of the flip video. it may be even better if the digital camera will shoot HD Video (720 or 1080)
Neither of these will compare to the quality of the better traditional video camera's which are available today.
Another thing you may want to consider is a Digital SLR which has HD Video shooting, such as the Canon T1i or T21 or the Nikon D5000.
These will take video that is superior to anything but professional HD video cameras, for a very reasonable price.
The user interface will take some getting used to, since the camera won't auto focus while shooting, and the zoom function will be performed by rotating the zoom dial on the lens, but I can attest that the video quality is supurb.

How to import my HD video to Windows Movie Maker?
Q. I have a HD video recorded by my camera, I just want to edit it, but I can not import it to WMM, please help me? Thank you!

A. I recommend you a HD Video Converter which can convert HD TS, HD MTS, HD M2TS, HD MPEG, HD WMV, HD MPG, HD MP4, QuickTime HD MOV, HD H.264, HD RM video, etc.

It also can edit the HD movies, such as CUT a video clip, crop the movie, merge several files into one file and so on.

Hope it helps!

How where cartoons like Scooby Doo made?

Q. Cartoons I see on TV today are all cleanly animated, where as the cartoons I used to watch back when I was young like Scooby Doo & Tales From The Crypt Keeper all looked like they had been hand drawn then animated.

How did the artists go about animating them? Can you still do it today? I hate the new style of cartoons; the old "hand drawn" ones looked so much cooler!

A. Okay, first point. Scooby Doo was created in a series of meetings where producers worked with writers (who were probably producers and designers (one of whom who I'll get to was probably as senior as most of the others) to come up with concepts like the Mystery Mobile its inhabitants and so on. The designer who worked on Scooby-Doo more than any other was Iwao Takamoto who was absolutely trained in the US though he got his first drawing lessons while interned in one of our Concentration Camps for Japanese during World War II. Takamoto was responsible for concept sketches, designs of the characters and model sheets for ALL of them. He had other artists working with him but he was primarily responsible as, at the time was Alex Toth on other series.

Then scripts were commissioned and as they took shape storyboards, backgrounds and designs and model sheets for other characters. WHILE that was going on, finished episodes were recorded and someone was assigned to time each episode, writing down just how long each sound effect or each syllable of each word took, as a guide for synching the animation. Finally the timing sheets and model sheets and so forth would be given to the key animators, who would draw the key positions of everything which changed in the episode (like characters, buttons, clubs -- guns weren't permitted on TV) and turn them over to junior animators called in-betweeners who exactly drew in the actions in between the key images they were given. These were usually drawn on light boxes in pencil using a thin paper with holes punched in them to allow them to hang from a register bar which kept all the drawing consistent (the first bevis and butthead was drawn on notebook paper, which makes sense as it already has holes for registration). The drawings were, for Scooby-Doo, in limited animation, which meant each would be on the screen for 1/12 of a second rather than the 1/24 of a second of a traditional animation. They were then, by that time, xeroxed onto clear acetate sheets known as cells, which were hand painted and sent to what is called a multiplane camera to be photographed in front of the backgrounds. Finally the film was edited to fit the soundtrack and the whole thing was transferred to video. The first series was done mainly in California but for monetary reasons, I believe they shipped the animation overseas after the episodes were recorded.

What's the cheapest way to record digital video and audio of our speakers at our Toastmasters meetings?
Q. With or without a laptop.
Thanks,
Vince

A. If you want separate recording (audio- video) you might have trouble when synchronizing them.. Actually this is the best way. You can load video (videos) and audio on Adobe Premier and have little work...

If you use some camera it will record audio and video, you don't have to sync.. But the camera microphone can't be better then normal mics.. If this is not the problem, just find no matter how cheap camcorders which has built in mic, that will be good..

If your place is big and you need record all audio in the room, so normal camcorders wouldn't capture all the audio..

Good luck

Cheerleading Requirements to make varsity team?
Q. Cause, I'm in middle school and I'm practicing for the varsity team for high school. I'm not that flexible but I'm been trying really heard. I just need to know. But, I've wanted to be a cheerleader. Please don't say you should do what you're good at, blah, blah, blah. Just tell me what you have to do. And if you've been to a cheerleading tryout, please tell me what it's like.

A. i think it may be late to become a cheerleader for your school next year. most schools hold interest meetings and tryouts around the end of the year prior to the school year that the cheerleaders will be cheering. so when you get back into school next year, the team will have already been chosen. so you'll probably be able to try out for the year AFTER next. or if your school does it differently then whatever. :) and since you don't have any experience, you'll probably need about that long to prepare for what's up ahead.

depending on how good your school's cheer program is, there might be different requirements to get on the team. go on your school's website and check out the cheerleading page. there should be a list of requirements to tryout. print that out, you'll need it. usually varisity has a standing back handspring as the bare minimum to getting on the team. but like i said, it just depends on how good the program is at your school.

in addition to prerequisites, make sure you are aware of/ and able to pay the fees. again, depending on how good your school's cheer program is, it could cost anywhere from $500 (really sucky program) to + $5,000 a year. usually the cost is somewhere in between. and while they do have fund raisers, it never fully covers the price.

make sure you have the time to be involved in cheerleading. because not only do they cheer at games, they are involved in fundraisers, they have 3+ practices a week, and sometimes miss school to go to competitions and out of town games.

id recommend tumbling and cheer classes. just look in the phone book for a local all star gym: gold's gym, cheer co., etc. and call them up to sign up for lessons. experience with tumbling should give you a leg up on the competition during tryouts. if you start preparing now (depending on how good you are) you should at least make JV (if your high school has a JV team). if you have your eyes set on making varsity your freshman year (and if that's possible, my school only lets 10th-12th graders on varsity) then i'd tell the coach you goals, and ask him/her for some more tips and advice. during the classes you'll be taught the basics of cheerleading, and it will also give you an opportunity to see wether or not you a. truely want to be a cheerleader and b. are any good.

also, know that cheerleading isn't something you want to get into cause you think it's cool, or will make you popular. because 1. it wont. and 2. you wont last if those are your only reasons. cheerleading is hard work, and you'll need determination and discipline in order to become good.

as for try-outs, you will probably be required to put together a tumbling pass to perform before the judges. This tumbling pass will require your best tumbling skills and should begin and end with cheering.

You will also need to be able to do jumps for cheerleading try-outs. These include the spread eagle, toe-touch, front hurdler, and right herkie and left herkie (also know as side hurdler). Ask the cheerleading coach or someone else like a former cheerleader to help you with technique for your jumps. Important things to remember are to point your toes, place your arms correctly as they should be for the particular jump you are doing, and above all smile, smile, smile. Once you have the technique down you should work on improving the height of your jumps and the height of your legs when in the air.

You will probably be required to learn some new cheers and a dance the week of try-outs. New cheers and dances are generally used to make try-outs fair for all the participants. Everyone has the same amount of time to learn the try-out material. Be sharp in all of your movements. Your arms should remain tight when doing cheers so they do not look sloppy. Cheer loudly, clearly, and not too fast so you are easy to understand. Work on your facial expressions. Pull out that video camera again and record yourself doing the cheers and dance. This will help you see where you can use improvement or to make sure you look happy and confident. Practice all you can so you know the material completely. You don’t want to be the participant who is watching and copying others doing the dance beside you. Ask other people including the cheerleading coach if they will watch you cheer or dance and critique you. This will help you get over the try-out jitters and can be really helpful.

When tryouts come, be prepared. Bring a water bottle, towel, snacks, extra hair bands, your good luck charm, and anything else you think you may need to help you feel prepared and relaxed.

well, i hope i helped! :)
good luck with tryouts!!

I am looking for a good shockproof, waterproof, dust proof digital camera and don't know which is best?

Q. I have looked at the Panasonic TS2, Sony TX5, and Olympus Stylus Rough 8010. Which one is the better of the three? Is there any other camera that I should look into?

A. Hello,
All three of them are considered to be good cameras. It all depends on what exactly you expect or want from it.
Sony TX5 is waterproof to 10 ft, when Panasonic TS2 and Olympus Rough 8010 are both waterproof to 33ft. And Sony TX5 has got the lowest resolution from these three. It's just 10.2 megapixels. Panasonic and Olympus have a resolution of 14MP, which is quite a great difference.
All cameras are shock-, dust-, sand- and freeze-proof. But Olympus 8010 is also a crushproof and designed to withstand a weight up to 220 pounds.
Sony TX5 gives you the opportunity to capture panoramic pictures with it's Sweep Panorama feature. Your images are automatically stitched together, which gives you the extra-wide view of the scenery.
Olympus 8010 has got the panoramic shooting option too. It also comes with a built-in 2GB memory, which is more than most cameras available on the market.
Panasonic TS2 has a good quality video recording. Although all these cameras record video in HD format. But Panasonic TS2 seems to be the most expensive out of them.
But if you do not need waterproof camera right now, Sony are releasing a new Sony Cyber-shot DSC-TX10 in March/April 2011. It will have a resolution of impressing 16.2 megapixels. And it is going to be the first waterproof camera that can capture 3D still images.

What are some good underwater cameras?
Q. I have a price range of no more than $450.
I don't have a camera, so I can't just buy an underwater housing.
When I say underwater camera, what I really mean is scuba diving camera, waterproof to at least 100 ft.

A. Latest waterproof cameras are quite good. On very rare occasions they come faulty, but the same is with regular digital cameras.
If you want camera, that makes good quality pictures on land or underwater, then I would suggest to look into these three cameras: Sony TX5, Panasonic Lumix TS2 and Olympus Rough 8010.
And all three of them cost less than $300 on Amazon.
You just need to decide which features you need more:
Sony TX5 is waterproof to 10 ft, when Panasonic TS2 and Olympus Rough 8010 are both waterproof to 33ft. And Sony TX5 has got the lowest resolution from these three. It's just 10.2 megapixels. Panasonic and Olympus have a resolution of 14MP, which is quite a great difference.

How do I resolve choppy video from digital camera?
Q. I have a Samsung TL220 Digital Camera, and I recorded an HD video. In the camera, the video looks great and there are no problems. When the video is transferred to the computer and opened in quicktime player or any other player, the video has normal audio but choppy video. Can I fix this? If so, how?

Thanks for the HELP!

A. Your camera is better than mine, but I corrected the same problem by changing the camera's resolution. I couldn't tell much difference in pic quality on the computer screen but the choppiness stopped.

which point and shoot digital camera has face detection available in the video recording mode?

Q. I have seen face detection as a standard on many new generation cameras but it usually is available only in the photo recording mode and not in the movie recording mode.

I am looking for a point and shoot digital camera that has face detection available in the movie mode. Can someone please help?

A. None that I know of. I don't even know of any digital cameras that will zoom or change focus during video recording. They aren't camcorders.

What is a good digital video camera for recording loud live music?
Q. I currently have a Sony Mini DV camera that shoots good enough video when shooting my band, but the sound sucks. My Sony point & shoot digital camera sounds better. I want a small camera with a good size hard drive that records really good sound for loud live rock & roll. Any ideas?

A. Hi Timpala,

The best option,in my opinion, would be a camcorder with a
external microphone. I understand that's not ideal at concerts.
So,maybe these links are helpfull for you :

Searching the net, I stumbled upon this again and again.
It's a unknown brand to me but it seems to have good
sound quality (mind it has a resolution of only 640x480) :

What is a good point and shoot camera with manual controls and is tiny?
Q. I need a point and shoot camera that has good manual settings like aperture, shutter speed, ISO, and so on. I also need it to be tiny, I'm in high school so i want to be able to carry it around but still take good pictures without carrying my SLR everywhere.

A. Canon has a couple of point & shoot models that fit your criteria (with full manual control).

They are the SX200 IS or the SD990 IS.

pros...the SX200 IS has 12x optical zoom (336mm) and a starting wide angle of 28mm.
It records video in HD.
cons...It has no optical viewfinder
The flash automatically pops up as soon as you turn on the camera (whether you need the flash or not).

The SD990 IS does have an optical viewfinder and is more compact than the SX200 IS.

Both cameras have very small sized sensors, so their ISO capability is obviously poor when compared to a dSLR.

I'm leaning towards the SX200 IS...because it has the 28mm wide angle, 12x zoom and records video in HD, though I hate that it doesn't have a viewfinder.

How to make photos from a digital video camera recording.?

Q. We have a Sony digital video camera that records on a small magnetic tape. When we watch recordings of our kids sports events, you can pause the recording and the still image on the TV is fantastic! Is there a way to turn these still images into photographs that can be developed at the drug store? I haven't tried taking a picture of the TV screen yet, we're looking for something a little higher tech.

A. Most editing programs will let you do a screen capture. This would be done on the computer.

What is a good digital video camera for recording piano playing?
Q. For youtube and stuff. I have a normal piano not an electric one. I also want to use the camera for recording sports and stuff. I want the sound on the piano to not be distorted like it is on most cameras and I want the sound to sound like it really does. Thanks. I would prefer that it was under $200. THANKS!!!!!

A. Any kind of Point & Shoot camera would fit your shooting style and price range.

Look for:
Canon Powershot
Nikon Coolpix
Sony Cybershot

Good luck!

Which digital camera is best for recording video?
Q. I'm ready to buy a digital camera but I would like to get an opinion from the masses.

Heres the scenario...I ride a sport bike and I plan on mounting a digital/video camera to my bike while I ride. The video length needs to be longer than just 30 seconds. I also want good quality picture capabilities as well. I'm hoping to spend no more than $275.

Any suggestions?

A. If you buy a digital camera that also shoots 'video'...then make sure it has a resolution of at least 640X480 at 30fps...and also records audio.
Canon is a very good brand that takes high quality 'video'.
The newer ones can record 1GB at a time (about 8 minutes)...and others have no limitations except for the memory card you are using (up to 4 GB).
Obviously digicams can not compete with dedicated video cameras (handycams) for video quality...so keep that in mind.
Frankly, I do not know how a digicam will handle the 'rough treatment' while connected to a sport bike, but good luck anyway.

What is a good compact camera for recording high-volume, high-definition audio/video?
Q. Hello everybody. Here is the problem I'm having:

I am an enthusiastic concert attendee, and I go to a lot of Metal shows. I also like to record parts of the shows I go to, so I can go back and re-live the experience later. But these shows are LOUD! Around 115-130 decibels, to be more specific. And at that kind of high volume, most camera microphones are overloaded and the resulting videos have sound that is distorted, scratchy, and unlistenable.

What I have tried already:

I have owned a Fujifilm JV-100 in the past, and I currently own a Canon SX-260 HS and neither of these have decent audio. My fiancée's old Sony Cybershot DSC-W50, on the other hand, has great sound quality. The only issue with that is that it's ancient, shoots poor quality photos, and doesn't have full-HD video capability. I'm also not sure if the newer models of Sony Cybershots have the same quality of internal microphone and when I asked a sales representative about this and she was unable to give me an answer.

Limitations:

Using an actual camcorder is out of the question, as is buying an expensive digital SLR. It must be a compact, point-and-shoot camera because otherwise the event staff/venue security deem it a "professional device" and will not allow it inside the concert venues without a press pass, which I obviously do not have. I also cannot use a separate audio recording device, because it is impractical and I need the convenience of all the components (camera, video recorder, audio recorder) in one single device.

What I need:

Simply put, I need a compact, point-and-shoot camera that is capable of shooting in low-light settings, that is capable of recording HD video, and has an internal microphone that doesn't fuzz out at high volumes. I also need it on a budget, which is less than $400.

Please offer me some suggestions for what model camera I should look into buying. I'm tired of wasting my money on cameras that don't work under the rigorous conditions I have described. If there are other metalheads out there who've had the same problem, I'd really appreciate it if you could give me your recommendations. Thanks in advance.

A. The Sony Cybershot DSC-WX10 [ 16.2 megapixels]

how to remove the 4gb limit on my point and shoot camera?
Q. ok my canon elph 110 point and shoot camera always stops at 4gb even though there's 4gb left on the card . I researched and it said it's the limit then I have to hit record again. I can't do this when i'm recording volleyball games since i'm playing. How do I make my camera record continuously without stopping.

A. You cannot

The 4 gb per video file is a physical restriction caused by the FAT32 format used by memory cards.

Since you can get from 17 to 20 minutes on a 4 gb file, it is no different than when we used to shoot 16 mm or 35 mm motion pictures

400 feet of 16 mm film only captured 11 minutes at 24 frame/s

400 feet of 35 mm film only captured 3.5 minutes worth of film.

So the 4 gb limit of from 17-20 minutes is actually a blessing to videographers

In order to shoot such long takes, you need to buy a mini-DV video camera and buy 60 minute tapes

The metal casing body is stylish and attractive; the 2.5 inch LCD display is easy to preview photos with, and the memory can be expanded with a few different media card options. This tiny digital camera also captures video with sound. What's a good inexpensive digital camera that also takes good videos for loud concerts?
Q. I was just at an all time low concert and certain songs were ok when I recorded them, but most of the songs with loud bass and everything just sounded like one big mess. It was awful haha

What digital camera takes great pictures, but when I want to take videos for concerts it's still clear?

Also, I don't need anything professional or anything like that, just a camera that's mainly for pictures but can still take great videos.

Thank you :o)

A. The all time winner bargain compact digital camera is the Canon 8.1 megapixel PowerShot SD1100[IS] with an added 2- gig memory card which when set in the manual mode for "Vivid" colors and videos at 30 fps in 320 dpi format provides killer images and videos under low light conditions. It's especially good for low-light concerts. The macro feature is superb for taking closeups of small butterflies, insects, etc. It currently sells for $150 at fotoconnection.com:

With a 32g SD card will my camera have the ability to record video for longer periods at one time?
Q. currently, with an 8g sd card my digital camera is able to record video for up to 25 minutes. I want to record for like 2 hrs, 3 hrs or more. Will getting a 32 g card help me do this?

A. If you want to record 2-3 hours of video at a time, get a video recorder from Sony (or someone else...it doesn't matter, but Sony is probably the best for video recorders) that has a built-in 160GB or 250GB hard drive. Those are relatively compact enough to carry around and are better suited for video recording that even the best digital camera you can currently buy on the market.

does anyone know how to get a dvdr dis to play on other dvd players?

Q. I am working with a magnavox dvd player/recorder mwr 10D6 and am using it to record church services by camera. After I finish recording the service on a blank dvdr disc, I remove it from the player and put it in my laptop afterwards, and I get a message saying the disc is blank (which is something I see as odd because it has video burned to it). The remote for this player has no finalize button. Does anyone know how to fix this?

A. If you wanna make a DVD that will work on a standard DVD player, you will need a DVD burning tool to do this. Just copy the movie to a DVD disc, it will actually not read by DVD players.

The best and most reliable DVD burning tool that I've ever used is a tool called DVD Creator. It's able to burn all kinds of videos to DVD disc. After that, you can view the DVD on DVD player. It also lets you edit videos and create DVD menus. Easy to use and professional.

You should really give it a try. You may check out at:

Best of luck.

Does the nikon coolpix l110 have a firewire?
Q. I need to know so I can record my church services and later make videos and dvds out of them. I was wondering about the firewire because the camera can only take 19 minute videos at a time and it always is a .MOV file and not a .AVI file (desired). So I want to record it onto my computer instead of the camera memory card. Thanks in advance for your help!

A. That I know of there's not a digital camera made that uses firewire - all are usb2

Anyone know of a board that can control multiple camcorders?
Q. My church is about to purchase 3 camcorders to record services with. Our main problem is how to merge the 3 feeds. I know we need a controller board to do that with, but I don't even know what they're called. My only media training was on an old SEG board from the 80's. And we're looking for something relatively cheap (under $400.00). Thanks in advance.

A. "Video Mixer".

Beware going cheap... you get what you pay for.

bhphotovideo is a good, reputable and trustworthy source.

Camcorders were not designed to be used as "studio cameras". I *strongly suggest you check with someone knowledgable about what you want to do.

What's a good camera for recording video and taking pictures?

Q. I want a fancy camera that isn't over $600. I want it to be digital and have an amazing zoom and close up picture ability. I also want it to be able to record video too.

A. With that price your fancy camera could actually become one of the digital SLR cameras.

One is $40 above your budget but real great is Nikon D3000
http://bestnikondslrcamera.buycameraprice.com/2011/05/28/best-price-best-nikon-dslr-camera-nikon-d3000-10mp-digital-slr-camera-with-18-55mm-f3-5-5-6g-55-200-af-s-dx-vr-nikkor-zoom-lenses-this-week-only.html

but if you want to save budget, actually these $100-$300 cameras will do the tasks just fine for amateur photography.

Are you allow to take a pictures from your digital camera when you take a tour inside the White House?
Q. I'm going on my Washington DC trip later on this month and my class of 2011 will be the first class in my school that actually gets to go inside the White House. I'm just wondering if we had a camera, are we allow to take pictures?

A. Nope:

"Prohibited items include, but are not limited to, the following: handbags, book bags, backpacks, purses, food and beverages of any kind, strollers, cameras, video recorders or any type of recording device"

http://www.whitehouse.gov/about/tours-and-events

what is the difference between a point and shoot and a digital camera?
Q. looking for a camera and i came across the options of point and shoot or digital at first i thought that meant the professionally used cameras but when i clicked point and shoot it actually had some of the cheaper priced name brand cameras. is there a difference in picture quality? if so, which takes more professional looking photos?
ALSO do either take movie quality or music video quality video?

A. Basic compact cameras that have very limited control options are called point-and-shoot. It's a type of camera. You basically just point the camera to your subject and click the button. Point-and-shoot cameras can either be film based or digital.

Digital refers to the way the picture is saved or stored. Digital cameras use electronics (memory cards or chips) to store the picture instead of using film. Digital cameras can either be point-and-shoot, dSLR, or hybrid.

http://keerok-photography.blogspot.com/2011/05/best-camera-for-me.html

Picture quality depends on the skill of the photographer. The type of camera used or the way it is saved is of little importance.

Professional is a label given to people who get paid doing what they do. A person can be a professional photographer if he gets paid to take pictures or if the pictures he takes get sold. Whether the pictures are great looking or not is beside the point. Professional basically means money involved.

Movies are just another form of medium just like still photographs. Movies can be shot with film or done electronically. Those that are stored electronically are better referred to as video.

The best camera for getting video is the camcorder. The most high-tech camcorders to date are digital.

The camcorder is a video device. If you want great sound to go with your video, use an equally great sound capturing device or audio recorder. The really good digital camcorders generally have good sound recording too with options to use external microphones for better sound capture.

Is there any way to increase video quality?

Q. My uncle recorded parts of my soccer game on my cell phone. Its the HTC HD 2, so it's a decent camera. But that was only because the actually recorder wasn't charged. Anyway, the video's came out a bit fuzzy but my coach wants to see the video clips. After I put the videos on my computer, is there any program or anything I can use to enhance the video quality, even by a little bit?

A. you dont say what you are using to edit the video, you may be able to increase the sharpness, a little, but to be honest a cell phone camea is not a camcorder, and the amount of compression they use does not make for good quality video, just ok video.

if you dont have anything to edit your video with then have a look here some are free some are not

What is a good camera/video camera?
Q. I am looking for a good camera that also has a good camcorder built in. Looking to use to take lots of pictures of my children and also record soccer games etc. What is a good brand and place to go to get it?

A. At the consumer level the best video recorders are camcorders. They can do stills but not very well.

actually, again at the consumer level, the best results are with, in my opinion, any model in the
Canon Rebel series from the t3 to the t3i - $500 to about $850.

Here's a good place to do research.

Does anyone know about those 5 megapixel digital video cameras with the memory cards?
Q. I wanted to buy one, however, is the 32MB internal memory or the memory card large enough to tape a 2 hour school play or a 1 hour soccer game? And can they be hooked to the TV to record over to a DVD?

A. In short, Yes, a 2GB memory card or so will hold more than 2 hours of footage. But with my experience in the industry I would never buy those types of cameras. The main reason being, the camera is a camera with a video function and not a true video camera. So the quality of what you are recording is crap and the same quality as a Youtube video. They are Cheap and Nasty cameras.

What is the best phone for recording video, particularly in loud environments?
Q. I need a new mobile phone, preferably one with a good camera and video recording facilities, particularly when its loud such as concerts and things so it doesn't sound all distorted. I have been looking at the Sony Ericsson C905, but is there anything that is great for that purpose out there? The last video recording phone with great sound I had was the Samsung D600 way back...
