what's the advantage of video recording between digi cams and regular cameras ?

epic_laydo

some good cameras take movies, and some digi cams take still photos....might bea dumb question but what should you buy if you like doing both? what are the advantages of digi cams for video over the regular cameras? Thanks!

Answer
i take that you mean "digi cams" as in digital still cameras, and "regular cameras" as in video cameras (camcorders).

although they can do the function of each other, a good still camera will still take better pics than a good camcorder, and vice versa. this is because they are dedicated to do that, and the still or video functions on the side are just there to attract people to buy it. so if you really like doing both digital still photography and shooting video (preferably making movies), then get two cameras: a still one, and a video one. hope this helps!

What's a good camera for recording video and taking pictures?

I want a fancy camera that isn't over $600. I want it to be digital and have an amazing zoom and close up picture ability. I also want it to be able to record video too.

Answer
With that price your fancy camera could actually become one of the digital SLR cameras.

One is $40 above your budget but real great is Nikon D3000

but if you want to save budget, actually these $100-$300 cameras will do the tasks just fine for amateur photography.
