Any recommendations on a good DSLR camera with HD video?

sneakrfrea

Ive been meaning to buy a dslr camera for ages now. Ive studied photograhy and im saving for design school atm. i really want a dslr but im torn between buying that or a video camera. Im thinking that maybe i should go for a dslr with hd video? i know that if i do that i cant expect to get amazing quality video but then again ill probably just be taking home videos until i go to design school so it should do for now.

so the big question is which one?

any recommendations

i just read a review for the canon EOS Digital rebel T1i but it didnt have a very good review

please any help would be great

Answer
Hey,

Nikon D90 has video, but there is too much jelly effect.

Canon EOS T1i is a complete fail at Full HD, with its 20fps. Don't buy this.

Nikon D5000 has an articulated screen and HD recording. That's the best so far.

Canon EOS 7D. More expensive but has great frame rates like 24,25, 30fps at Full HD and 60,50 at HD.

Nikon D5000 or Canon EOS 7D. Depends on your budget.

Is the Nikon 1 J3 a good camera to use for HD video recording?

I will mainly be using the camera for recording videos, hence why I want it to be able to record in full HD. However, I will be using it to take pictures every now and again! What are you views on recording on this camera? Or is there a better camera which I could use? I was looking at the DSLR cameras, but I think they will be too bulky if I was just carrying it around.
Any help will be appreciated!

Answer
Yes, the DSLR is bulky to carry around, but they really impress people that you know what you are doing. Regardless of your skill level.

While a camcorder is better, the Nikon 1 J3 is a good camera for video. Here is a review of its predecessor.
