Can you take gopro hd hero to EDC Vegas 2012?

J. L.

I know that you can't take DSLR. The website also says "no video cameras," but I was wondering if taking my gopro hd hero was okay. "no video cameras" seem a little vague, seeing how most point and shoot cameras are allowed but those can record videos also. Plus, gopro can be used as a camera, so...help?

p.s. do you guys know if small external microphones are allowed? I want to record some stuff with better sounds. It says "no professional audio" but a small external microphone isn't considered anything professional, right?

Answer
None means NONE, period. They will take it

Canon T2i, t3i or Nikon D3200?

person num

I am looking to purchase a new camera mainly for the purpose of video. I plan to make all my youtube videos and short films on it, so I'm not too focused on the still picture side. I wanted to go with the t2i originally but is the t3i worth the extra $100? Also, is the Nikon D3200 better than both of them (with video)? Thanks!
I am looking to see which is better in VIDEO not still pictures!

Answer
fhotoace always recommend Nikon cameras. When EVERYONE knows that Canon DSLR's outperform all of Nikon's cameras in video. Don't be entirely persuaded by his Top Contributor Title as most people and even he probably knows that Nikon has always been behind Canon in video. ALWAYS.

Have a look at that 2012 Article and see what it says about which brand should be used for video.

And if you want some real visual proof. Have a look at this comparison between the Canon Rebel T3i and the similarly priced and features Nikon D5100.

Notice at the 7:30 mark when he has the T3i in his hand, he has to use the D5100 to record. Pay attention to the video and audio quality until the 8:18 mark where he has the D5100 in his hand and has the T3i recording. The Canon obviously has better video and audio quality.

I also read and heard in this comparison: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=79v5QsM4kRQ
One of the first things the guy says is that the Canon is better than the Nikon at video. He says it in the comments as well.

If you need more proof than that then you should look up what other people think and I really hope no one says that Nikon has better video quality.

So the better choice is the Rebel T3i, no matter how new the D3200 is... Plus the vari angle LCD screen really comes in handy with video, but if you don't think it's worth the extra $100 then the T2i is basically the same thing.

If you need any more help, possibly finding the correct first lens to buy or accessories, just send me an email. Glad to help.
