What camera is good for taking videos at concerts?

Skillet

I want the sound and picture to be good and have good zoom and quality and this is mostly for heavy metal and rock concerts so alot of bass. price range would be up to $200 for a used one

Answer
Most compact HD video cameras have good microphones; I've used several for recording hard rock gigs myself. What you wanna stay away from are Flip cameras or any type of camera that is primarily for photos (primarily photo cameras with video capabilities tend to have the worst audio recording quality).

A compact HD video camera with excellent zoom?

TMC

Hi! Looking for a compact video camera with particularly good zoom. I own a Sony HD Handycam which has pretty good zoom, but once zoomed in at it's closest, it goes a little glowy/soft looking rather than staying clear and sharp.

Any recommendations for HD video cameras that have a *really* close zoom yet still capture clear/sharp footage when zoomed in at it's fullest?

Thanks very much in advance!

Answer
Panasonic HDC TM80K is compact, light and, most importantly, records great HD videos and digital photos. It features an unbelievably clear night recording under very low light conditions, perfect daylight recording and fantastic shake-free zoom capabilities. The unit's functions are very easy to understand and to use. The transfer between the unit and my Mac Book Pro was seamless, using IMovie program.
