I want a fancy camera that isn't over $600. I want it to be digital and have an amazing zoom and close up picture ability. I also want it to be able to record video too.

How to Connect HandyCam as Live Webcam?

I want to connect my Sony HandyCam HDR CX-150 to my Macbook Pro that has a firewire port. I don't think that the camera has a port on it for firewire but I heard that you can get an adapter for firewire to mini usb (the usb cable). I would be using the camera to record videos in iMovie 2011. Hope you can help!

The Sony HDR-CX150 cannot be used as a web cam. That's why there's nothing in the manual telling you haw to do that. You do not need firewire, and you do not need an adapter. The camcorder cannot do streaming the way you want.
Capture the video, then connect the camcorder to the Mac with a USB cable then Capture or import the video using iMovie for editing.
