What Canon is comparable to the EOS 500d t1i Rebel?

I really like that camera but i really expensive!! I can't spend $900 right now on a camera.

I'm taking photography/videography classes in college, and i like that the 500d had HD video recording, but like i said, money is a little tight.



What other Canon EOS DSLR/SLR camera would be really comparable to it? The main things i'm looking for in a camera are:

Video Quality/Length
Live view
ISO
Shutter Speed
Aperture

The only other Canon camera that has video is a the 5D MKII which costs about 3x as much.

All the other new Canon Rebels have everything but video. The older Rebel XT and XTi don't have live view.

The same is true with Nikon and Pentax. The Nikon D5000 costs the same as the Rebel T1i and the Pentax K7 costs about $1,400.

What are the optimal settings for Full HD Avi when converting from Mov?

I have a dSLR camera that records in Mov. By a Full HD movie that means a lot of space. I want to convert the video to Avi, but when I do that the result is always too blurry, noisy, pixelated. What are the optimal settings for a Full HD Avi, keeping the file size as low as possible?
"Blurry, noisy, pixelated" refer to video quality. Audio is optimal at 128kbps mp3.

As far as I know, Aneesoft HD Video Converter does a good job for HD video conversion, and provides optimal settings for Full HD AVI. Try out!
