Is the Nikon 1 J3 a good camera to use for HD video recording?

kayleigh

I will mainly be using the camera for recording videos, hence why I want it to be able to record in full HD. However, I will be using it to take pictures every now and again! What are you views on recording on this camera? Or is there a better camera which I could use? I was looking at the DSLR cameras, but I think they will be too bulky if I was just carrying it around.
Any help will be appreciated!

Answer
Yes, the DSLR is bulky to carry around, but they really impress people that you know what you are doing. Regardless of your skill level.

While a camcorder is better, the Nikon 1 J3 is a good camera for video. Here is a review of its predecessor.

What is a good digital camera that can record HD video also?

Looking to buy a good, affordable digital camera (around $400 or $500) that can take at least 9 mega pixel photos and HD video, preferably 1080p, but 720p is okay. Good zoom and fps too. If anyone has a good camera they have used please write about it and let me know!

Or even if you know a good camcorder that take good quality still photos and 1080p or 720p with good specs...

Thanks!

Answer
No such animal .. the closest camera like that is the Nikon D90 with a 18-200 mm VR (not within your budget)

P&S cameras have continuous shooting rates of under 2 fps, video maybe you can find one with 720p quality .

Here are some possible cameras that have higher video resolution, but probably not what you want.

There are no camcorders that can make quality still images other than okay 4x6 inch prints.
