Flip video camera has a problem/ Flip doesnt record 2 hours?

spr619

I have a Flip video camera, The Ultra HD that records 2 Hours and for some reason it says it only has 1hr and 47min, and i even deleted everything on the camera and it still says that, Please i need to have it fixed by 3/25/2011
please
I could always record 2 hours, this happened recently that i cant now

Answer
Scotts right,

I think the file system on the flip will be fat32 it has a maximum file size, which will work out at about your time limit.

If it did more than that then format the drive do not delete it, that will clear off everything, all formatting does its basicall hide the file and tell the camera that it can record over it.

Since when can you record 2 hours on a Mini-dv tape 63 minutes sp or or for those who dont want to spend money 90 minutes LP

Answer
Lovely question mate. Okay, for me, the best DSLR camera for video is definitely Canon 550D or Kiss X4 or T2i whatever they call it. I love it for its value for the money. It has all the right features I need to capture great videos. The grip is comfortable, it records progressive videos (interlaced video like old Sony Alpha cameras are a nightmare), great prime lens options, full manual control over the exposure and has ample resolution options and frame rates such as these:
- Full HD : 1920x1080p: 30/24 fps (NTSC), 25/24 fps (PAL)
- HD : 1280x720p (HD): 60 fps (NTSC), 50 fps (PAL)
- VGA : 640x480 (SD): 60 fps (NTSC), 50 fps (PAL)

Notice I said prime lenses? It means that the aperture size is constant along the focal length. Zoom lenses change their aperture value when zoomed in or out. The kit lens, 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6, is strange. Let's say you lock exposure at 1/100 shutter speed and f/3.5 when the lens is zoomed out to 18mm. Then during recording you zoom in to 55mm. At this length the lens can only provide you with f/5.6 and then the video mysteriously gets darker. To overcome this I rarely zoom in or out during recording, and I use fixed aperture lenses like a 200mm f/2.8 prime, 50mm f/1.8 prime and some more primes.

My recommendation, get a Canon 550D and then spend more on prime lenses. Oh, don't forget to get a tripod or a steadicam for non shaky videos. Have a good time making movies!

What is a good hd recording video camera thats around 100 to 150?

Q. It has to be from the year 2011 or preferably 2012 but either works so yeah thanks in advanced

Answer
There really isn't anything "good" for that money. You'll get adequate but not good. Good is more in the $500 range and up.

Camera and Camcorder Info?

Q. I want to buy a camera and I'm torn between getting a digital camera or an SLR camera. I also want a camcorder that can record in standard definition. The problem is, i don't want to spend a lot of money and i'm not sure where to go.

I want to go to best buy, but i feel like i might get a deal on craigslist or if i go to a non chain store or a store that isn't best buy.

Is craigslist a good deal?
Where else can I go to buy a camera or camcorder that isn't best buy, target, kmart, or walmart?
Any tips or hints to purchasing something new?

Camera made specifically for YouTube?

Tatiana!

At Radio Shack I saw these cameras like Nikon Coolpix or something and they had this sticker on it that says HD YouTube Video Recording.... can you help me find out what it's called?

Answer
It's probably just a camera that shoots in 720p or 1020p.
If your camera is able to shoot in 720p or 1020 the videos it makes will be considered HD on youtube.

A successful youtuber did some research on affordable HD camera's awhile ago

Are cameras allowed at said concert?

Shawn

On Jan 31st I plan to go see my very first Linkin Park concert here in PA, I want to take my HD camcorder with me so I can record the whole event. I swore I saw a camera in use in their 2011 Announcement video on youtube. So, I just want to know for sure if cameras are indeed allowed at said event. Also, could I get a run down of everything that is / isn't typically permitted so I know what I can and cannot bring? Thnaks.

Answer
Usually you can have a camera but you can't use it. There will probably be an announcement before the show begins "Flash photography and video or audio recording of tonights performance is prohibited." Of course, many people ignore the warning and get away with it.

What is the best video size (like 4x4) to upload to movie maker?

best camera with hd video recording 2011 image

Answer
Normally, you upload the size that came from the camera. Be sure if it's HD widescreen that you change Movie Maker's aspect ratio to 16:9. In the XP and Vista WMM, go to Tools>Options>Advanced tab. For Windows Live Movie Maker, see the link below for a good screenshot of where Aspect Ratio is.
http://www2.palomar.edu/pages/atrc/2011/05/27/windows-live-movie-maker-video-aspect-ratio/

The Canon EOS T2i (550D) is an excellent camera. You have a lot to learn about using it but the quality of your photos and videos will be excellent so it will be worth it.

Many thanks for the Best Answer but now I can't reply to your other question so I'll have to do it here.

Your camera can output 4 different kinds of Videos: Full HD (1080p widescreen), HD Lite widescreen (720p), 640X480 @ 60/50 fps and good old Standard MOV files (which are also 4:3). If you just set the mode to Video, you're taking Standard MOV videos.

Whenever you change the video recording mode, you have to make a note of what it's been changed to so you can use the appropriate aspect ratio when you edit and you can pick the right size Save Movie option.

This review of your camera's video capabilities is a tad technical but the only file format that's produced seems to be MOV (MPEG4) files. At least they are encoded with H264 which gives them very good quality.
http://www.cameralabs.com/reviews/Canon_EOS_550D_Rebel_T2i/movie_mode.shtml

This lays it all out:
Format
Resolution Codec Frame Rate
1920 x 1080MPEG-4 AVC/H.264 24p
1920 x 1080MPEG-4 AVC/H.264 30p
1280 x 720MPEG-4 AVC/H.264 60p
640 x 480 MPEG-4 AVC/H.264 60p

If, for some reason, your videos won't import to Movie Maker, try this little experiment that works for my MTS files which are also encoded with H264:
right click on one of the MOV files and click on Copy. Go to the Desktop, right click and "Paste". Now, right click on the file that's on the Desktop and click on "Rename". Change just the file extension, the last three letters - the MOV - to AVI and press Enter. A warning able the renamed file being unstable will appear. Click Yes/OK - you want to rename the file. Now, see if this renamed file will import into Movie Maker. Mine do. If they don't import, you'll have to convert them.

Turn on your camera. Put in into video mode. Press the Menu button and scroll through the options until you get to the recording mode. Press OK and make a note of what mode you're recording in. Click my avatar and email that information to me - along with what version of Movie Maker you're using and whether or not you can import the MOV files into Movie Maker.

And, yes, I know how confusing and brain exploding all this is right now but very soon, after you get used to it, it won't seem bad at all.

Should i buy the iphone 4 right now? Or should i wait until this summer?

I am not sure if i should get it now or not :/. Because apparently the new one is coming out in June. Do you know what features or how different it will be? Thank you. Also FYI In tucson we are not getting 4g servie until late 2011. Do i wait and get a 4g phone with the 2 year contract? Thank you!

http://www2.palomar.edu/pages/atrc/2011/05/27/windows-live-movie-maker-video-aspect-ratio/

Should i buy a 3ds just to play Kingdom Hearts Dream Drop Distance?

Parmpreet

So i was planning to buy a xbox360. But then i found out about Kingdom Hearts DDD. So should I buy a 3ds to play Kingdom Hearts? I LOVE Kingdom Hearts. But a Xbox360 is so cool. I mean there are some pretty neat features on the 3ds. Like Music and 3d photos and Videos. There is even a 3d pokedex( I'm also i big fan of Pokemon.) So should i buy a 3ds or A xbox360?

Answer
You should get the 3DS

Because you can play music (even with the system close)

You can LOWER the VOLUME of 3D

You can also turn the 3D OFF Completely

And 3D is good for working out your eye muscles & brain to keep them in shape as shown in this link:

http://www.aoa.org/x17309.xml

The Nintendo 3DS has downloadable 3D Music videos from today's American music artist which I have already downloaded the 3 free 3D Music Videos to watch anywhere and the 3DS has 3D "Blue Man Group" video and College Humor (in 3D) with the FREE "Nintendo Video" App that you can download (but its 4 3D Videos at a time and they replace them once in a while) and you can download cheap downloadable 3D Apps & 3D games costing from 99 cents to $5.99 and the Nintendo 3DS also has FREE downloadable 3D Apps & 3D Games, which I have already downloaded 3 Free 3D Apps and I have downloaded 2 Free 3D Games and the 3DS has a 3D Camera and I have already used the 3DS 3D Camera to take 3D photos and I have uploaded some of my 3D footage online using the Nintendo 3DS's Web Browser to upload my 3D footage online and I have used my 3DS Web Browser to also download other peoples 3D footage from the Internet on my 3DS Web Browser and I have view all sorts of 3D content on 3D Websites online on my 3DS's Web Browser and I have use my 3DS 3D Camera to play 3D Augmented Reality games as well and it's all in 3D without the Glasses using the 3DS 3D Camera and It has beautiful 3D HD graphics that equal to that of a 3D HD version of Wii Graphics and I have Streamed 3D Videos Online on my 3DS in the eShop and I have also Watch 3D Trailers for upcoming 3D movies coming to Theaters in 3D and I have done all of this in 3D Without the Glasses

The 3DS with a Wi-Fi Update can RECORD 3D Videos in 60 fps (unlike other camcorders, that only Record in 2D Only and in up to 30 fps only)

So you can pay $169 for a Nintendo 3DS and buy the greatest Games ever & all in 3D Without the Glasses like Cave Story 3D & Kid Icarus & Super Mario 3D Land & Mario Kart 7 using the MOTION SENSORS to play the game like if you were turning a real steering wheel to turn the Kart left & right and also play such other 8 GB 3D Games like TheatRhytem Final Fantasy & Kingdom Hearts 3D & Metal Gear Solid: Snake Eater 3D & Crush 3D and Shinobi & Animal Crossing & Rodea the Sky Soldier & Michael Jackson: the Experience 3D & Ridge Racer 3D & Super Street Fighter 4 3D & Monster Hunter 4 & Golden Sun 4 & Star Fox 3D & Zelda 3D & Sonic Generations 3D & Tetris 3D & Resident Evil: Revelations & Tales of the Abyss 3D & Tekken 3D which also has the 3D Movie Tekken the Movie 3D in it to watch and also play other 8 GB 3D HD games as Spider Man 3D and 100% of the 3DS games are in HD 3D Without the Glasses

And the 3DS pixel density is MUCH sharper than an average HD TV

They're making Angry Birds 3D as a downloadable game

And the 3DS has DLC (Downloadable Content) like Xbox Live for a bunch of 3DS games to add content to the game later on for Free

1 of the Free 3D Apps I have downloaded was Netflix

And Netflix is getting 3D Movies in the next few months, so for $169 you can watch 3D movies on the free Netflix App on the 3DS in 3D Without the Glasses

And 100% of the people who have said that they get headaches from 3D, have said that after up to 1 week of using the 3DS they NO LONGER get headaches anymore and that they now play with the 3D all the way up 100% all the time, non-stop

But I have never had any problem with the 3D at all, but each person has a different experience with the 3D ON during the first week

You can now pay to download 3D Videos on the 3DS

The 3DS is getting Hulu Plus before the end of this year (2011) as a Free downloadable App and Hulu already has 3D Content

and you can check this Link below for more 3DS Games:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Nintendo_3DS_games

P.S. You will want to check these sites out for the Web Browser's 3D ability:

http://www.3ds-screenshot.com/

http://gamecrunch.co/3dscreens/

http://3dporch.com/

http://3dspaint.com/

http://www.klutz.com/static/nintendo/n3ds_mm9.html

http://www.instructables.com/3ds/

And there are such great cheap downloadable games from the eShop as:

Sakura Samurai: Art of the Sword

Dillon's Rolling Western

Pushmo

Pyramids

And here are the 2D Resolutions:

Wii = 640

3DS = 800

And here are the Motion Sensors:

Wii = 1 Axis

3DS = 3 Axis

And here are the Frame Rates (Frames Per Second):

X Box 360 = 30 fps

3DS = 60 fps

And the 3DS Wireless is 2.4 GHz.

And here are the Audio's:

X Box 360 = 5.1 Surround Sound

3DS = 7.1 Surround Sound

And the 3DS has way more better graphics than the Wii as shown in this Link Here:

There really isn't anything "good" for that money. You'll get adequate but not good. Good is more in the $500 range and up.

I am looking for a good shockproof,waterproof, dust proof digital camera and don't know which is best?

Matt W

I have looked at the Panasonic TS2, Sony TX5, and Olympus Stylus Rough 8010. Which one is the better of the three? Is there any other camera that I should look into?

Answer
Hello,
All three of them are considered to be good cameras. It all depends on what exactly you expect or want from it.
Sony TX5 is waterproof to 10 ft, when Panasonic TS2 and Olympus Rough 8010 are both waterproof to 33ft. And Sony TX5 has got the lowest resolution from these three. It's just 10.2 megapixels. Panasonic and Olympus have a resolution of 14MP, which is quite a great difference.
All cameras are shock-, dust-, sand- and freeze-proof. But Olympus 8010 is also a crushproof and designed to withstand a weight up to 220 pounds.
Sony TX5 gives you the opportunity to capture panoramic pictures with it's Sweep Panorama feature. Your images are automatically stitched together, which gives you the extra-wide view of the scenery.
Olympus 8010 has got the panoramic shooting option too. It also comes with a built-in 2GB memory, which is more than most cameras available on the market.
Panasonic TS2 has a good quality video recording. Although all these cameras record video in HD format. But Panasonic TS2 seems to be the most expensive out of them.
But if you do not need waterproof camera right now, Sony are releasing a new Sony Cyber-shot DSC-TX10 in March/April 2011. It will have a resolution of impressing 16.2 megapixels. And it is going to be the first waterproof camera that can capture 3D still images.

P.S. You will want to check these sites out for the Web Browser's 3D ability:

http://3dporch.com/

http://3dspaint.com/

http://www.klutz.com/static/nintendo/n3ds_mm9.html

http://www.instructables.com/3ds/

And there are such great cheap downloadable games from the eShop as:

Sakura Samurai: Art of the Sword

Dillon's Rolling Western

Pushmo

Pyramids

And here are the 2D Resolutions:

Wii = 640

3DS = 800

And here are the Motion Sensors:

Wii = 1 Axis

3DS = 3 Axis

And here are the Frame Rates (Frames Per Second):

X Box 360 = 30 fps

3DS = 60 fps

And the 3DS Wireless is 2.4 GHz.

And here are the Audio's:

X Box 360 = 5.1 Surround Sound

3DS = 7.1 Surround Sound

And the 3DS has way more better graphics than the Wii as shown in this Link Here:

What are some reasons to get the new iPod touch?

Lucille

I have the version before the recent one and I was thinking about getting the newer version, what are some reasons to get this new one?

Answer
The screen resolution of the 4th generation of the iPod Touch (September 2010/October 2011) is 960x640, which is twice that of the 3rd generation (September 2009).

The 4th generation of the iPod Touch includes a 0.7 Megapixel camera (960x720), plus can also record 720p HD video.

The 4th generation iPod Touch includes 3-axis gyroscope, not found in the 3rd generation.

The 4th generation iPod Touch has a faster CPU than the 3rd generation.

3rd and 4th generation iPod Touch models can use iOS 5.

Even with all of this, you might want to wait since the 4th generation (technically) hasn't been updated since September 2010. There only very modest hardware upgrades (Color Option, minor component changes), plus iOS 5. The iPod Touch 4th generation still uses the A4 processor, while the iPad 2 and iPhone 4S use the A5 processor. The 4th generation still could do more than enough that you're interested in, but it's over a year old. I've read rumors that there might be a larger screen in the future iPod Touch and undoubtedly a faster processor, but I hope Apple increase the screen size, plus upgrade the processor to the A6 and keep it in sync with the processors used in the iPad 3 and iPhone 5.

Here is a video of what the current A5 processor can handle (though you may not be interested in this type of game) -- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ogXbOe9yVNA

The iPod Touch 4th generation can do similar, but not play the above version of the game -- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sy2hXtUN2t0

You might want to use this web site to help you determine the best time to purchase an iPod Touch, if you decide to buy the 4th generation. Right now, they suggest to wait for a price drop within the next two weeks -- http://www.decide.com/p/apple-ipod-touch-4g-8gb-black-mp3-players-16964825

Amazon had the iPod Touch 4th Generation 8GB model for $145 on Black Friday, but it sold out in under a minute. Probably in 30 seconds.

I am looking for a good shockproof,waterproof, dust proof digital camera and don't know which is best?

Q. I have looked at the Panasonic TS2, Sony TX5, and Olympus Stylus Rough 8010. Which one is the better of the three? Is there any other camera that I should look into?

A. Hello,
All three of them are considered to be good cameras.

What are some good underwater cameras?
Q. I have a price range of no more than $450.
I don't have a camera, so I can't just buy an underwater housing.
When I say underwater camera, what I really mean is scuba diving camera, waterproof to at least 100 ft.

A. Latest waterproof cameras are quite good. On very rare occasions they come faulty, but the same is with regular digital cameras.
If you want camera, that makes good quality pictures on land or underwater, then I would suggest to look into these three cameras: Sony TX5, Panasonic Lumix TS2 and Olympus Rough 8010.
And all three of them cost less than $300 on Amazon.
You just need to decide which features you need more:
Sony TX5 is waterproof to 10 ft, when Panasonic TS2 and Olympus Rough 8010 are both waterproof to 33ft. And Sony TX5 has got the lowest resolution from these three. It's just 10.2 megapixels. Panasonic and Olympus have a resolution of 14MP, which is quite a great difference.

And it is going to be the first waterproof camera that can capture 3D still images. You can pre-order this camera and it costs $330.
