Leticia
I have seen that it is becoming used for independent films and I want to look for one that would be good for video. I have heard that avchd format of compression is better than the jpg that most dslr used that have video recording. Also is there one that record in HD 1080/60i ?

What DSLR Camera has the best picture quality for around $800 or lower?
Michael
I also need very good HD video recording. I was thinking about a rebel T2i or a Nikon I don't really care about the brand just something. The most I will pay for it is 800 and that is just a Tad of a stretch. I want something that can take very professional looking pictures. Thank you.

Hey,
You already answered yourself..For around 800$, T2i is the best option.
However, the D3100 is better than most out there, for less money. Remember, all DSLRs below 2000$ have same image quality, it doesn't depend on the megapixels.
