Can I record Videos on a digital camera? If yes, then which type of cameras?

Q.

Answer
Yes, most digital cameras take videos now. You have to be careful though because there are variations:

1) Sound - some will record sound with the video, some don't.
2) Length of video - some cameras limit the files to 20-30 sec files, some are unlimited, until you fill up your memory card.
3) Type of file - not as big of a deal.. some will record in .mpg, some in .avi, some in .mov.. in case you have a preference.

For #1, usually the sales people won't even know the answer so you'll have to play with it to find out.. look for a mic/speaker on the camera. For #2, try looking in the details for the camera online for this. For #3, if it matters to you, this will also be in the online descriptions.

I hope this helps! Let me know if you have more questions..

A good digital camera with good video recording?

waterr!

My camera, which is a Sony DSC-P41(4.1 meg. pixels) is getting old and worn out. But its still a good camera for me, but i feel that my camera is getting outdated. I recently came back from vacation, and i wished that i took more videos. Is there a good digital camera that can also take good videos?

(There is one really stupid, tiny reason why im trying to stay away from sony cameras, it is that their cameras use a specific memory card, and the highest memory card ive seen in a store is around 2GB, when im trying to aim for a memory card 4GB, since im planning to take alot of pictures and videos)

Answer
well sony does make some good cameras and they make memory sticks just as big as sd these days and they are getting cheaper so i would personally go with sony. sorry for breaking your rules lol

Question about recording video games????

Tyler R

Everytime I try to record a video game, the bottom part of the screen is shaded and the top is normal. How do I fix this? Is there a software? Should I get a new video camera? No, I am not trying to record Halo.

Answer
Are you pointing a video camera at the TV? If you are, then it's pretty normal to get either weird shading or some sort of shady bar scrolling through the screen. It's just the peculiar way TVs output their signal and how video cameras record it. Have a read of this article, it has a few solutions:

I want to record my xbox 360 game footage and i recently found out u can do that by using a video camera. I have the camera that has the A/V out input that i plug into the RCA couplers (female to female). then i wondering do i just plug in my xbox cables to a female to female RCA Coupler then get two double connecters and connect my camera cables to that and then a seperate set of cables from the tv to the RCA Couplers? Sorry if this is confusing...if you dont know what im talking about i leave some links.
